Diapulse Treatment Protocol And Settings

In my many years of experience with Diapulse electromagnetic field treatments I have learned some very beneficial and effecting "Application Protocol Guidelines".  They include but are not just limited to the following:

1. Sleeping While Being Treated
If the patient goes to sleep while being treated he or she is not to be
awakened. They should only be awaken under their normal biological
influences.  In the sleeping state the healing process is working at its
     fasted and best possible rate.

2. Multiple Treatment Areas
It is more beneficial to treat move that just the effected or complaint
area.  The additional treatment areas that should include limited to
one or more of the below areas:
    1. The related spinal region that innervates the effected area or
        region of complaint
    2. Liver
    3. Common Iliac arteries on either inner thigh
    4. Pancreas
    5. Spleen
    6. Heart
    7. Kidneys

3. Treatment times
Treatment times can range from as short as 15 minutes through a
continuous "On" operation.  In spinal compression fractures and
broken bones I have found a continuous ON operation is necessary
to control and eliminate pain while greatly reduce, controlling and
     stabilizing swelling and edema.

Also I have found that if the patient goes to sleep while under
Diapulse treatment that they should be allows to awake under their
own biological awakening systems for gaining maximum benefit

4. Skin Temperature
Even though the Diapulse in non-thermal (does not produce heat) I
have found that when the body's healing metabolic mechanism is
activated it produces an internal healing fever that normally ranges
from 101 to 102.5 degrees F.  And since temperature cost energy
calories I cover the area with a terry cloth towel to assist in
maintaining that body temperature. Next let's take a look at the
company recommended treatment times and settings.
Diapulse Treatments & Settings
There has been a large number of request to discuss the treatment settings I found to be very effective when treating a full range of advanced motocross injuries such as broken bones, spinal vertebral and spinal cord injuries, head injuries, strokes, coma, tail pipe burns, and skin ulcerations. All were treated very successfully with Diapulse.

Patient Placement Requirements
Patient comfort comes first, preferably lying down is best as most patients will probably go to sleep as their healing process is activated.  However, some conditions are treated better when the patient is sittings up, such as sinus conditions. The patient does not need to disrobe.  They can stay fully dressed as the Diapulse treating head can be placed directly on the effected area even if the area is casted.  Remember the Diapulse's electromagnetic healing rays will go right through clothing, sterile dressing, or a cast.  But also remember the treatment head surface must be in direct contract or touching the effected treatment site.

Location Of Treatment
Diapulse treatments can be performed while the patient is lying on a treatment table, in bed, or sitting in a chair.  It is normal to find the patient sleeping during the treatment as the body selectively shuts down its normal activities as its healing processes are activated.

Time Of Treatment
Each treatment time should lasts from 15 to 30 minutes minimum.  However, I have found that the more severe the injury the longer each treatment time must be.  A Diapulse can successfully treat many patients a day.  Treatments involving a severity level of 4/10 to 6/10 can be treated twice a day (BID) such as broken bones, spinal core injuries, or skin ulcers.  And remember that twice a day is much better than twice as long. Treatments requiring three times a day (TID) usually involve a severity level that ranges from 6/10 to 8/10.  Conditions that range 8/10 and above probably will require many hours per treatment as the Diapulse's treating electromagnetic field eliminates the pain, swelling, and discomfort.  All broken bones, spinal cord injuries, and skin ulcers require a minimum of 30 minutes for each treatment.

Frequency Of Treatments
Standard treatment protocol dictates the more severe the problem the more frequent the daily treatment.  As a general rule I have found for more sever conditions who's severity levels is at or above 4/10 will require at least two treatments daily (BID).  More severe conditions will require three treatments daily (TID).  And all 8/10 and above will require are treated QID or four times per day. All healing times are greatly shortened with the correct daily frequency.
Diapulse Power Setting
The Diapulse has two-selected setting for each treatment.  Both are selected and set before the treatment begins.
1. Peak Power
2. Pulse Frequency

Diapulse on Stand-by with the Peak Power on 6 and the Pulse Frequency on 600

1. Peak Power (The Upper Panel)
The Upper panel on the machine is Peak Power.  This setting determines the magnetic wave depth of penetration.  The values range from 1 through 6.  Value

1 is for shallow depths (approximately 1") and value 6 is a maximum penetration depth (approximately 6").

2. Pulse Frequency (The Lower panel)
The Lower Panel on the machine is the Pulse Frequency.  This setting determines the number of electromagnetic energy pulses per second (pps). The pulse frequency ranges from 80 pps to 600 ppm.

Because the duration of each pulse is constant, the intensity of the total electromagnetic power employed can be varied over a broad spectrum by correlating the settings of the pulse frequency with the settings of the peak power output.
Power Setting Chart
1. Peak Power (PP)
A. 1, 2, & 3     All Skin Inflammations = burns, sutures, cuts,
                         abrasions, etc.
B. 4, 5, & 6     All Acute thru Chronic treatments = follow-up post operative treatments, all bony areas, striated muscles and joints including hands & sinus, striated muscles, pain, sprains & strain, fractures, swelling, edema, strokes, heart conditions, comas, skin ulcers. Etc.

2. Pulse Frequency  (PF)
A. 80 thru 300 = Smooth muscle spasms, acute nerves                              such as sciatica,  burns, pain,  etc.
B. 400              = All acute inflammatory conditions, injuries                             (within 24 hours) or same day related
C. 500              = Subacute injuries (48 hours on)
D. 600              = All chronic conditions, broken bones,
spinal cord injuries, deep  bruises, strokes,                              heart conditions, comas, and skin ulcers

Total Number Of Treatments (Guideline)
1. Acute Conditions    = Should see results within 1 to 10 treatments
2. Chronic Conditions = Should see results within 10 to 30 treatments

Remember - No treatment under 15 minutes over the affected area.  And the longer the treatment the better the results. The more severe the problems the longer each treatment time should be.  If the patient is asleep while on the Diapulse do not awake them and continue the treatment until they wake up on their own.  The body heals at its fastest possible rate during the sleep phase.

Acute Nerve Inflammation Low back pain, as almost all chronic pain, responds very well with a Diapulse setting of 6 and 300 or 6 and 400 over the primary site of actual pain.

What Conditions Can Diapulse Be Used On?
Any and all acute, subacute, & chronic conditions involving all connective tissue and postoperative edema and pain.  Diapulse can be used safely over any area of the body with no danger of hyperpyrexia or tissue damage.  It can be placed directly on any cast to heal broken bones. It can be used directly over metal implants to heal the surrounding tissues. It has been found to regenerate nerve tissue. And is the only therapy approved by the FDA to treat an area immediately following surgery.

Contra-Indication = None
Warnings
Diapulse should not be used on patients using electronic cardiac pacemakers or on patients with metallic implants in the area of application.  Hearing aids may have to be removed before treatment begins.

1. Diapulse should not be used on pregnant or skeletally immature patients
2. The long-term biologic effect of pulsed electromagnetic energies are not
     known at this time.
