Ceramic Magnetics
Hair Growth
His research has found it was possible to stimulate the regrowth of hair. He initial subjects were injured animals from automobile accidents that had large areas of their hair (fur) detached or torn away. His suggested the following treatment protocol for humans.

Treatment
1. Applied gentle vibration to the scalp, acts to loosen it and allow a greater
circulation to the roots of the hair
2. And then apply the South polar surface of a weak (100 to 300 Gauss units)
magnetic tape applied to the effected area (only) for 30 minutes once a day and
    placed only to that location.

Herbs
HorseTail (Silica)
Horsetail (Equisetum Arvense), also known as Silica, has been long used by herbologist and natural healers all over the world. Horsetail is rich in silica and silicon. It also contains high levels of potassium, calcium, and a significant variety of fatty acids. Horsetail, when included into the daily diet, facilitates all connective tissues to build and/or regenerate in about one half the time. It also encourages the absorption of calcium and the breakdown of vitamin B. Horsetail, not only stimulates new hair and fingernail growth, but also helps eliminate excess oil from skin and hair in the process.

Horsetail
Horsetail has a wonderful healing activation and repair properties that nourish all connective tissues, bone, blood vessels, skin, nails and hair. It makes connective tissues and bones stronger, thicker, and resilient to higher stress loads. And Horsetail allows the natural healing processes to occur, not only better, but also faster. Some of the more popular uses for this herb include:

1. Arthritis
2. Bed wetting
3. Bladder disorders
4. Body’s new growth during the first twenty years of life
5. Circulation enhancement
6. Connective tissue repair (all), such as, ligaments, tendons, muscles, bone, and
    cartilage
7. Detoxification
8. Finger nail growth
9. Hair growth
10. Immune system (building)
11. Incontinence
12. Kidney disorders, such as, kidney stones
13. Nervous system (repairing and building)
14. Skin disorders
15. Urinary tract disorders
16. Water retention disorders (as a diuretic)
17. Wound healing (external & internal) for stopping bleeding, antibiotic properties,
and for its unique ability to initiate the healing process at the wound site

Horsetail is also used for:
1. Healing all connective tissue, such as broken bones (hard tissue) and muscle,
    tendon and ligaments (soft tissue).
2. Straightening and helps prevent hernia, ruptures, or fractures of connective
tissue, bone, and peri tissues (the tissues that surround other tissues, structures,
    and organs)
3. Helps prevent and helps accelerate recovery of bruising and swelling from
    trauma or jaundice
4. Restores both vascular channels and blood loss out of its proper vascular    channels
5. Aids in the phagocytic (clean-up) actions in the body
6. Helps the bowels to function properly and aids in digestion
7. Stimulates the kidneys and functions as a diuretic
8. Used in liver and gallbladder disease and disorders
9. Used in the treatment of skin disorders
10. Helps eye problems and opens blocked tear ducts
11. Stimulates hair growth

Horsetail is an amazing Herb that helps build and provides elasticity to bones, hair, skin, nails, and teeth. Fractured bones heal in half the time when horsetail is included as a supplement in the daily diet.

Detoxification
Horsetail is a diuretic and astringent that has been used to help control incontinence including bed-wetting - it both strengthens the bladder and eliminates water. It is a good "Spring Cleaning" detoxification herb. Like with connective tissues there also is evidence that horsetail builds the immune and nervous systems, as well. It is recommended for urinary tract infections due to its antibiotic properties.

Horsetail is a very important organic Herb used in the preventing and the repairing of connective tissues, such as, bone, muscles, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, nerves, skin, and other body structures. It is very constructively used in accelerating bone regeneration during the repair process shortening the healing times.

Athletic Training
It should not be surprising that athletes use Horsetail as a daily dietary supplement in helping to prevent injuries. In prevention, horsetail helps allow the building of connective tissues and bones to grow stronger, more resilient, and recover faster from overstress and injury. This quality is most definitely an asset in any form of competition.
Recommended Dosages
Pehabilitation
Orally, 1 to 3 capsules (taken with the meal) daily depending upon the degree of stress demands placed upon your body. The general population will require a smaller dosage than that of athletes and business executives. But remember, the high the mental or physical stress loads and demands placed upon you, the higher the daily-required dosage. Horsetail works better when taken with a meal.

Rehabilitation
Orally, 3 to 6 capsules (taken with each meal) daily. Take one to two capsules with each meal. Normally, injured body tissues repair and regenerate themselves in a time range from 7 to 120 days. Horsetail will shorten that time period by approximately one half.

During The First Week Of Usage
During its first week of usage you may want to build a faster higher concentration (titer) of horsetail within the body. This can be accomplished by a few different methods.

1. By placing the contents of one capsule under the tongue, for two or more
minutes, each morning for the first week.
2. By placing the contents of one, or two, capsules in a cup of hot water (tea)
drinking it just before bedtime for the first week.
3. Or, by adding one additional capsule to the morning dosage for the first week.

Which Herbal Products Perform The Best
In all athletic competition, performance is the name of the game. Out of all the Herbal products available that I have actually tried and used, Natures Sunshine’s "Horsetail" has consistently out performed the rest. Horsetail has 360 mg (5.56 grains silica) per capsule.

Is It Safe
To date, there is no records of Horsetail ever having any harmful effects to man. However, there are abundant accounts and records attesting to the great benefits found from the re-establishment in the quality of man’s health when it is included into the daily diet.

Vermont Folk Medicine (The book)
Treatment

2 table spoons of Apple cider vinegar and 2 table spoons of honey mixed in a warm 10 oz. glass of water three times a day (with each meal).

Baldness: Science Seeks A Cure
Excessive hair loss is a problem, which is becoming increasingly wide spread among both men and women. Every day a normally healthy scalp will shed from 20 to 60 hairs and also begin growing a certain number of new ones. When hair loss exceeds the rate of new growth, thinning and baldness result. Thinning hair is often attributed to aging, but it may also occur in young people, and the causes are actually many and varied. Hair loss has been known to occur as a result of illness, childbirth, dermatological diseases, excessive smoking, emotional stress or the intake of certain drugs. The most common medical categories of hair loss are known as male pattern baldness and female pattern baldness.

Male pattern baldness comprises about 95% of all baldness in men. It occurs in about 75% of the male population especially those over age 25. The typical pattern of hair loss is known as "horseshoe baldness". It begins with thinning at the sides of the scalp and the crown, and eventually leaves the crown bald.

Although heredity may play a part in male pattern baldness, other possible factors are hormonal imbalances, nervous tension, dandruff, and dietary deficiencies. An increase in the male hormone androgen can, paradoxically, trigger both losses in scalp hair and new hair growth in other areas of the body. Nervous tension impedes the circulation and nutrition of the deeper scalp tissue, disrupting the flow of nutrient hormones and enzymes to the scalp. Dandruff and excessive oiliness can also cause hair loss, which may be due to an excess of fats and carbohydrates in the diet. Another dietary factor is an excess of salt. Essential to hair growth are adequate protein, the B-complex vitamins, and a number of trace minerals, including iodine.

In male pattern baldness, the hair that is lost does not generally return. The is as opposed to the spotty variety in which hair falls out due to stress and can in most cases, be regrown in a few months. Massage and topical applications to the scalp are reported to have no value in male pattern baldness.

Female pattern baldness can occur in women of all ages, though it is more common in later years. Thinning of the scalp hair is especially prevalent after menopause.

As in male pattern baldness, hormonal imbalance, nervous tension, dandruff, and dietary deficiencies are all-important factors. Additionally, a common cause of hair loss in women is excessive strain on the hair shaft due to hair setting and coiffure practices, which can pull the hair out of the follicle and cause permanent hair loss in severe cases. Changing to a more relaxed styling procedure will usually restore the disturbed follicles. The incautious use of hair waving and straightening preparations may also cause a temporary loss of hair, as can use of a hairbrush having stiff, irregularly tufted bristles, and use of an excessively hot hair dryer

Scientists clearly recognize that the causes of baldness are deeply rooted in the stress and artificiality of the modern lifestyle. Certain preventive measures are recognized as valuable, but how to regrow hair that has been lost remains, for the most part, a medical mystery.

The above information has been summarized from articles in "Today's Health" and other publications of the American Medical Association.

EDGAR CAYCE’S BALDNESS TREATMENT
The Edgar Cayce readings offer New Hope for effective prevention and treatment of falling hair by safe and natural methods. In fact, Cayce guaranteed that consistent application of the treatments he advised would be rewarded by healthy, new hair growth provided the hair follicles were still alive. The treatment procedures found in the readings consisted of both internal and external measures.

In surveying the Cayce readings which dealt with hair and scalp problems a clear pattern of causation and treatment can be seen. Falling hair, dandruff, and related disorders were typically attributed to a combination of poor scalp circulation improper diet, and glandular imbalance or hypofunction.

Correcting this condition internally usually required dietary changes, and often iodine supplementation to stimulate the thyroid gland as well. The single most frequently suggested type of external treatment was the massaging of pure crude oil into the scalp. About 30 readings suggested crude oil application to improve both the circulation of the scalp and the tone, luster and thickness of the hair.

The following is a summary, from reading 4056-1, of one of the most widely following treatments for falling hair:

Atomidine
Begin with an Atomidine series: one drop each morning, taken in a glass of water before breakfast. Continue for five days, then leave off for a five-day rest period". One of these rest days, give the scalp a thorough massage - at least 30 to 40 minutes - with crude oil preferably using an electric vibrator with a suction cup applicator. At this time a little Vaseline may also be massaged in.

When the five-day rest period has elapsed, begin again with the Atomidine for another five days. During the following period do another crude oil treatment. For the following two weeks leave off the crude oil and Atomidine entirely. Then do another complete series. Continue repeating the entire cycle.

Consistently eat foods that naturally contain iodine, such as kelp salt or sea salt and plenty of seafood. Avoid an excess of sweets. The yolk of the egg may be eaten, but not the white.

Scalp Massage
It should be noted that this reading calls for a vigorous scalp massage. However, use of an electric vibrator is not essential if a thorough rub with the fingers can be given.

The administration of iodine through both diet and Atomidine dosage was suggested apparently to correct a deficiency in the system. Atomidine dosage was recommended in approximately a third of the readings for people with falling hair.

Formula 636
The tonic formula given in reading 636-1 might in some cases be substituted for the Atomidine, as its use was originally recommended in conjunction with crude oil treatments. This formula, which when taken according to directions supplies one drop of Atomidine a day, was given as a glandular tonic to restore natural color to gray hair. Other valuable ingredients include liver extract a substance very high in the B-complex vitamins and the type of supplement most frequently recommended in the readings. Wild ginseng is a Native American herb with rejuvenating properties, and blacksnake root and lactated pepsin are digestive aids given to facilitate the metabolic effect of the other formula ingredients.

More Information On Crude Oil Treatments
Although the application of crude oil for the scalp was consistently recommended for people with falling hair, the details of these treatments varied widely, depending on the needs of the individual involved. This is evident in the two examples that follow: Reading 816-1, which attributed the excessive hair loss to insufficient circulation and glandular imbalances, recommended crude oil application and osteopathic adjustments to prevent further loss of hair. In this case the crude oil was to be massaged into the scalp once a month, followed by a rinsing with 20% grain alcohol to make the tar and oil easy to wash out of the hair. This was occasionally to be followed by application of a small quantity of Vaseline.

The 636-1 reading suggested that a crude oil treatment be given two or three times a month, again followed by the 20% grain alcohol and Vaseline. It was claimed that this treatment would cause hair to grow in cases except where the follicles had been destroyed, and would prevent four-fifths of all balding problems.

This reading also suggested a diet high in iodine that would stimulate the thyroid gland. Seafood was recommended two or three times weekly, fried and greasy foods were to be avoided and the skins of white potatoes (but not the pulp was to be eaten.

The diversity of the readings is such that crude oil application may be followed by a choice of several other substances. They include: 20% grain alcohol, weaker alcohol solutions, olive oil shampoo, pine tar shampoo, pine tar soap (shampoo may be substituted), Vaseline, and Listerine. Many readings, which mentioned alcohol application, emphasized that only pure grain alcohol be used as opposed to the denatured variety, which causes excessive dryness. In general best results will probably be obtained through experimenting with treatment procedures to find out which works best.

It is important to use only pure, unrefined crude oil on the hair and scalp. This oil is formed from the gradual decaying of deposits of organic matter buried deep in the earth’s crust. Crude oil refers to its raw form as it is extracted from the earth and before it undergoes refinement. Numerous products are derived from this oil, including gasoline, kerosene, paraffin, and motor oil, though none should ever be considered as substitutes.

The natural occurrence of crude oil in a variety of thicknesses and shades of color can sometimes generate confusion. Any of these varieties are usable, presumably with equal effectiveness. Some users prefer the honey-colored Pennsylvania grade crude oil as it has the mildest odor and is easiest to wash out of the hair. This variety is paraffin-based. The darker variety, which is asphalt based, is somewhat more difficult to use.

If desired, crude oil treatments may be performed more often than the readings quoted suggest. Some individuals have reported good results using it as often as several times weekly. The big production of a full crude oil treatment might be avoided by simply rubbing small amounts into the scalp every few days

Occasionally, a first-time user of crude oil will become alarmed at the quantities of hair lost during treatment. This is both a normal and a temporary initial reaction due to the loss of loose hair, which is always followed by a period during which little or-no hair loss occurs. A preventive treatment cycle might thus all for a crude oil massage whenever hair loss begins to occur in excessive amounts.

Hair growth is such a gradual phenomenon that it is easy to become discouraged after following Cayce’s treatment suggestions for a month or two with no dramatic results. Crude oil is no miracle cure, however, and it should be given an initial trial of at least several months, since it could take as long for the hair to be restored as it did to be lost in the first place.

The Edgar Cayce readings are a valuable source of many additional comments regarding crude oil and the care of the hair and scalp in general. CRUDE OIL RESEARCH
Some early research data on crude oil has been tabulated, and more studies are under way. Following is a report of results to date:

A SUMMARY OF THE RESULTS REPORTED BY 45 USERS OF
EDGAR CAYCE’S TREATMENT FOR FALUNG HAIR

Background: In June of 1972, C. Wilford Grover, Ph.D., an independent researcher undertook a research survey to determine the degree of success experienced users of Edgar Cayce’s crude oil treatment for baldness, using names and addresses of all recent purchasers of crude oil supplied by the Heritage Store. Forty-five persons responded to the survey.

Results
1. Four percent of users reported complete hair restoration, 7% reported
considerable hair restoration, 18% reported moderate restoration, while 42%
reported little restoration and 29% none.

2. Of the 29% who reported no restoration, 38% reported that use of the crude oil
treatment prevented further loss of hair.

3. 60% of the persons who reported considerable or complete restoration had been
using the crude oil treatment for more than 12 months, while 84% of those who
reported considerable or complete restoration had been using the crude oil
treatment for more than 12 months, while 84% of those who reported little or no
restoration had used the crude oil for less than 12 months.

4 Of the 10 persons who reported using the crude oil treatment for more than 12
months, 30% reported considerable or complete restoration and no one in this
group reported no restoration at all.

5. 4 out of 5 (80%) of the persons who reported considerable or complete restoration
had followed the complete treatment as outlined by Cayce, including the use of
Atomidine internally to stimulate the thyroid gland.

Conclusions
While the sample population for this analysis was unfortunately rather small, the following conclusions might tentatively be drawn:

1. The use of the crude oil treatment will in most cases prevent further loss of hair as it
did in 840/a of persons in this sample.

2. For those willing to follow the complete treatment outlined in the readings for
baldness for at least 12 months, the probability of considerable or complete hair
    restoration will be greatly increased.

SOME ADDITIONAL NOTES

Since 1972, the three individuals who reported to us that crude oil failed to stop their hair loss were all taking Vitamin C at the time in addition to Atomidine dosage. This may be more than coincidental as the readings generally advised against combining different types of internal dosages on the same days. In any case, in order to give Cayce’s remedies a fair trial, they should be used alone and not in combination with other treatments.

AN ENCOURAGING REPORT
"I have enclosed a sketch I drew myself to indicate progress over a two year period. I started on this program January 1, 1972, with just petroleum jelly. Using the crude oil and Atomidine has speeded up hair growth considerably. My sideburns have widened, to my amazement, and a peak has grown out toward the eyebrow. As you can see the hair is growing in from the bottom up and closing in morn each side on the top. I certainly hope it continues to fill in. There is hair over the entire top of the head and it’s thin but it’s there and it wasn’t there before.

"The day that this project is completed (when hair fills in on top) I’m going to contact A.R.E. and find out if they would like me to write a booklet on Edgar Cayce’s formula results for growing hair. Right now I can vouch for it wholeheartedly, but people want proof. I have photos to use."

"My boss was highly skeptical when I first started this. Now he wants a copy of the formula in case he loses his hair. He keeps saying, "UNBELIEVABLE!" I told him ‘if someday you pass my spot here and you see a gorilla sitting on my chair, don’t panic - it’ll be me." "I think that Atomidine will grow hair on the floor if you happen to spill some of it. Charles Bradshaw from New York.
Baldness - Healing Your Body by William A. McGarey, M.D.
Baldness in the human family is often a distressing problem that leads one sometimes to extreme solutions. A recent subspecialty that has grown out of modern medicine’s attempt to cure baldness is that of doing hair implants in the scalp.

Those familiar with the Cayce material, however, have tried - often with significant success - the suggestions Edgar made to correct baldness. When I checked at the A.R.E. Library several years ago on which circulating files were most often borrowed, I found that the Baldness File was most in demand.

Why would one wish to restore hair to a balding scalp? Doesn’t baldness indicate one type of wisdom? The image of a man with a white beard and a balding scalp has been treasured over the centuries as the symbol of the wise man. On the other hand, hair has been called by poets and lovers the crowning glory. Hair in a sense is the symbol of thoughts generated in the mind of the individual. Thus hair is a great thing to cultivate.

Despite conflicting opinions regarding hair or its absence on the scalp, the great majority today, both male and female, would prefer a frill head of hair. To gain that goal when one is in need, however, requires patience, persistence, and consistency - an admonition frequently given in the Cayce readings dealing with healing of the body. So, if you are seeking relief for your balding head, recall that simple advice and do not underestimate its importance. Many individuals during the days when Edgar was still with us failed to recognize how healing comes about and, with impatience, failed to reach the endpoint of the healing process, whether it be for baldness or cancer of the lung.

A woman beautician who asked how to treat baldness got this answer in reading 636-1: "There has never been a better than the crude oil treatment. This would be given about two or three times each month, followed with a cleansing with a 20 percent solution of grain alcohol and then massaging white Vaseline into the scalp in such a manner as to leave the whole surface not too greasy, but as sufficient into the scalp to produce the better application of whatever may be used. But this will grow hair on most bald heads, unless, as we have indicated it is of the germ nature that has destroyed the bulbs that grow hair. Be especially efficient with such a diet as outlined; and occasionally specific gland treatment. So, when there is the necessity, make association with a physician that will give a gland treatment such as thyroid, adrenal and the like, or as will be found in the form of iodine, adrenaline, thyroid extract or liver extract.

Diet
The reading suggested this diet: at least two or three meals a week should consist of seafoods; no fried or very greasy diet at all, or no fried meats at all; skins of Irish potatoes rather than the pulp. Such a diet together with an application to the scalp or to the skin will be much more efficacious in the growth of hair.

Reading 816-1 offers more insight on the cause of baldness. The lack of the flow of circulation, where much of that has been destroyed from which the activities of the glands in the thyroids and the adrenals make for the stimulation to these activities. But with the corrections made [Osteopathically], and with the use of such a stimulating to the scalp as crude oil with the white Vaseline and alcohol (that we have indicated through these sources), there will be stimulated a growth that will not only improve the condition but prevent further inroads of this lack of circulation in the scalp. Such a scalp treatment would be given in this manner.

Scalp Treatment
About once each month have a crude oil shampoo, preferably done by self-it is messy, but it is necessary for the stimulation from the pure crude oil. Then cleanse same with the 20 percent grain alcohol - not wood alcohol, but grain alcohol - to remove the tar, the oil, and such influences, although some of the oil will have stuck in sufficient to stimulate the circulation to the growth of the roots of the hair itself. Then use occasionally a little white Vaseline. The massage is the more important for it, you see.

Q. How long should the crude oil stay on [the head] before cleansing with the alcohol
     solution?
A. This depends, of course, upon the circumstances. For half to three quarters of an
     hour, if possible.

In my front yard, I have a pine tree that was injured when we moved it from the nursery to plant it at home. The central trunk was broken off just about two feet from the ground (The tree was only about three feet tall when purchased). Over the four years since we started watching its growth, one of the limbs started bending slightly, then more and more, toward the center of the tree. Then it started making little branches further down from its growing tip. Now, the tip has moved into the center, the bending is gradually correcting itself, and the tree will soon start its upward growth.

If one simply looks at how this little pine tree, given the patience and nurture needed, takes what it has in hand and corrects an injury, following the energy pattern that is its heritage, we have a real life lesson. Each of us has an energy pattern that Cayce indicates is our true body. It has in it the essence of perfection, needing only to be nourished and cared for, and the healing will come about. The Vaseline is nourishing, isn’t it? And the crude oil, and the iodine or Atomidine and the grain alcohol. And the massage. What is being sought is a healing, isn’t it? And, in my book, that’s where soul growth comes about!

FORMULA 636
This unique metabolic and glandular tonic is the only formula of its kind in the Edgar Cayce readings. Although it was originally recommended to restore natural color to gray hair, it is more often used for the rejuvenating, balancing and energizing effect it is apt to have on the entire system. It has also sometimes been found to improve hair quality and growth, and since the hair and nails are built from similar proteins, to harden soft nails in the process.

Formula 636 is an unusual combination of herbs and other substances loaded with essential vitamins and minerals:
Lactated pepsin is an often recommended digestive aid, used here to increase the assimilation of nutrients vital to the health of hair and complexion.

Black Snake Root is a metabolic stimulant traditionally used as "female toner" which Cayce found would stimulate the capillary circulation.

Ginseng, a venerated herb with a history of usage by many ancient cultures, is widely regarded as a restorer and prolonger of youth, vitality and virility. Cayce’s preference for wild ginseng was never explained; presumably it is more effective.

The inclusion of Atomidine makes Formula 636 a glandular tonic. This unique iodine preparation was regarded as less toxic and more easily assimilated than that found in kelp and other nutritional supplements. Since iodine was the most often recommended mineral in the readings, prescribed for arthritis, baldness, poison ivy and much more, Atomidine supplementation would presumably be widely beneficial. Taken according to directions, this tonic supplies approximately one drop of Atomidine a day, an amount, which would probably help many individuals to maintain glandular balance.

A final ingredient, Extract of Liver, is a nutrient-rich preparation, which is especially high in B complex vitamins. Grain alcohol is a natural preservative, and the simple syrup base makes the formula quite palatable.

NOTE: If you are taking Formula 636 specifically to restore natural color to gray hair, we suggest that you also apply Crudoleum externally to simulate the scalp circulation. The words "good scalp treatment" in the reading itself (see reverse side of page) are a direct reference to the crude oil treatments.

CAUTION: Because of its high iodine content, Formula 636 should not be used at the same time as other sources of iodine, including Atomidine, kelp and multi-mineral supplements. Too much iodine can over-stimulate the thyroid gland, resulting in nervousness and restlessness. This formula should not be used by anyone with a history of heart problems, as glandular stimulation will also affect the heart. Although the readings did not warn against the ingestion of alcoholic beverages while Formula 636 is being taken, we do not recommend this combination.

Q-4: Please give me a formula for a medicine to be taken internally to restore natural
        color to hair.

A-4: This would necessarily be put up under the direction of a pharmacist, unless it
was formed into an organization for the manufacture of same; which would be a
combination in these proportions, whether making two ounces or four hundred
        gallons:

To 4 ounces of Simple Syrup, add:
Lactated Pepsin 1 ounce,
Black Snake Root Extract 1/4 ounce,
Essence of Wild Ginseng 1/4 ounce,
Atomidine 40 minims,
Extract of Liver (preserved in alcohol, of course,

Or Armour’s Liver Extract) 1/2 ounce,
Grain Alcohol 1⁄4 ounce.

The dosage of this would be half a teaspoonful three times each day, just after meals, for periods of ten days with five-day rest periods. This taken in such a manner over a period of several months will be effective to glands, to those secretions that will not only make a digestion that will be much improved in health but -- with any good scalp treatment, especially such as we have indicated -- it’ll turn graying hairs back to normal; or where it has been streaked even by various forms of dyes, its GROWTH will come normal.

To turn again to why such a formula as given would affect the body-functioning's, as to change the outward activity of the functioning of glands in a body:

The Syrup, surely, is the carrier.

The Pepsin is active such that the ingredients given may be effective upon the basic influences within the body that would produce in the varied offices of the body those proper functioning to stimulate in the proper proportions the activities of the cuticle and the epidermis.

So the basis of not only the complexions of body would be changed as to be in a more healthful and thus in an activative force to beautifying of that which is to man his crown of strength and to woman her head of beauty; for to man hair in the head is as strength - to women is as beauty.

Then, the Essence of the Black Snake Root is an active principle with the lacteal ducts that make for secretions in the system that stimulate a capillary circulation.

Aided in same and purified through the Wild Ginseng Essence, that is - according to the ancients the basis of the stimulation of life in its very essence in the body of man.

The Atomidine - that is activative in the glands, especially the thyroid, the adrenal and all the ductless activities through the atomic forces in iodine, the one basic force with potash, - makes for a balance throughout the functioning of the body itself.

While the Extract Of Liver with the preservatives, in the activities with the other portions of the body, become beautifiers. Hence, proportioned as indicated, are activative with a body - healthy the nails, the cuticle, the epidermis, and the adorning of the beauty of the body Beautiful! We are though. [636-1]

Crudoleum Products for Healthy Hair
Crudoleum is pure, unrefined, undiluted Pennsylvania grade crude oil, recommended by the Edgar Cayce readings in small amounts to condition the hair and stimulate circulation of the scalp. Used on a regular basis, it helps prevent itching and brings out the natural luster and body of a healthy head of hair. Rinsing with a grain alcohol solution and then a gentle shampoo typically follows Crudoleum application.

Crudoleum Hair Rinse
Crudoleum Hair Rinse a 20% solution of pure grain alcohol and distilled water, denatured with natural pine oil. Following Crudoleum application it is rubbed into the hair and scalp to "cut" the oil, making it much easier to wash out of the hair. We then recommend using Olive Oil Shampoo, a mild cleanser regarded by Cayce as especially beneficial to both hair and scalp.

Crudoleum Cream, a new product, is an innovative combination of Crudoleum and white petrolatum, which was sometimes recommended for scalp massage as well. Crudoleum Hair Rinse for Shampooing to effectively remove it from the hair must follow application of this ylang scented product.

    here.
2. Rub one or two capfuls Crudoleum Rinse thoroughly into scalp, increasing this
amount if needed for longer hair. This is an essential step in removing Crudoleum
    residue.
3. Wash hair as usual with Olive Oil Shampoo (or Pine Jar Shampoo or Crudoleum
Shampoo). Follow with Crudoleum conditioner if desired.
4. Repeat this application once a week or on a schedule of your choice. This routine
may be alternated with use of Crudoleum Shampoo and/or Conditioner.

PINE TAR SHAMPOO AND SOAP
Pine tar soap was recommended for cleansing the hair and scalp in about seven readings. In every case it was the soap that was recommended not the shampoo-although in all of these cases the soap was to be used on the scalp as a shampoo. It is possible that only the soap existed in Cayce’s day, and that the shampoo did not appear on the market until later.

Because of the antiseptic nature of the pine oil in pine tar soap, its use was especially indicated for scalp treatments, in conjunction with such items as white Vaseline, Olive Oil Shampoo, crude oil and diluted grain alcohol. Reading 26 1-2, the one most commonly followed for dandruff, called for application of diluted grain alcohol mixed with a small amount of pine oil, followed by white Vaseline and a thorough cleansing of the head with pine tar soap.

Following are some typical hair care programs from the readings.
To keep it [the hair] nice and smooth. Take care of it more often with either Drene Hair Tonic or olive oil hair tonic followed with the shampooing with crude oil and tar soap. These, while making irritation at first will maintain the better conditions for the body (5261-1).

For the scalp [dryness] and for the hair, we find it would be well to have a thorough massage or shampoo with pure tar soap - at least once a week, and then to massage a little white Vaseline into the scalp after such a shampoo. This will materially aid the hair and produce a better condition there (633-12).

Our Tannenbaum Pine Tar Shampoo is a gentle germicidal shampoo that is especially good for dandruff, itchy scalp and oily hair. The antiseptic properties of pure pine tar make this product a natural for scalp treatment. For more information consult the Circulation File on Complexion.

Hair Care
Is your crowning glory bouncy and thick, or a lackluster heap? Do you suffer from excessive hair loss or dandruff? The Cayce medical readings contained a variety of natural, environmentally safe hair care solutions that can help your hair become thick and beautiful once again.

One of the most popular was crude oil, now available through The Heritage Store as Crudoleum Hair Treatment. The single most frequently suggested type of external treatment suggested in 30 readings, crude oil massaged-often with an electric vibrator into the scalp was a popular treatment for hair and scalp problems, particularly excessive hair loss and baldness. It stimulates scalp circulation-one of the primary causes of hair loss and leaves hair healthy and lustrous. According to a survey of 45 users, Crudoleum prevented further hair loss in 84% of participants and in 71% it brought about some degree of hair restoration. Eleven percent of the individuals experienced "considerable" to complete restoration of hair.

As you may know, oil is formed from the gradual decaying of deposits of organic matter buried deep in the earth’s crust. Crude oil is simply the raw form, after it is extracted from the earth and before it undergoes refinement into a host of products including gasoline, kerosene, paraffin and motor oil.

In response to a request for a "sure" formula for baldness, Cayce said: "There has never been a better formula than the crude oil treatment. This would be given about two or three times each month, followed with a cleansing with a twenty percent solution of grain alcohol and then massaging white Vaseline into the scalp in such a manner as to leave the whole surface of the scalp not too greasy. But this will grow hair on most bald heads, unless - as we have indicated - it is of the germ nature that has destroyed the bulbs [roots] that grow hair". [Reading 636-1]

There has never been a better formula for baldness than the crude oil treatment." Edgar Cayce Reading 636-1In response to another gentleman’s request for help with baldness, Cayce attributed his falling hair to insufficient circulation, suggesting that "once each month have a crude oil shampoo, preferably done by self - it is messy but it is necessary for the stimulation from the pure crude oil. Then cleanse same with the twenty percent grain alcohol to remove the tat; the oil, and such influences, although some of the oil will have stuck in sufficient to stimulate the circulation to the growth of the roots of the hair itself:’’ [Reading 816 -1]

Although the readings varied concerning how often crude oil should be applied, some individuals have reported excellent results using it on a weekly basis, while others use it once or twice monthly. Still others simply rub small amounts into the scalp every few days.

Following the treatment, Cayce suggested rinsing with a weak grain alcohol solution—Crudoleum Rinse to remove excess oil and further increase circulation. Most people find this an essential step in helping to remove Crudoleum from the hair after treatment, but it is also an effective dandruff treatment. In fact, in Reading 261 -2, Cayce said this about dandruff: "If this will he used, this may entirely cure same; to water-aqua pura, that is preferably of pure water to four ounces of same add twenty minims of 85 percent alcohol, with oil of pine, two drops, this should he rubbed thoroughly into the scalp, so that there is the proper reaction from same. Then, thoroughly into the scalp, rub a small quantity of white Vaseline. Then wash the head thoroughly with that of

Tar soap. Do this once each week. It [dandruff] will disappear"

What’s more, The Heritage Store has recently created a product that offers the popular, growth promoting properties of the crude oil, in a more convenient form. For those in search of a short cut,

Crudoleum Shampoo contains gentle sudsing agents, olive oil and coconut oil soap, as well as a small amount of crude oil. Although the results may take longer, many of our customers report excellent results with regular use. Crudoleum Hair Conditioner containing castor oil, olive oil, aloe vera, jojoba, and lanolin can be used after shampooing with Crudoleum Shampoo.

PRODUCT REPORTS
I have enclosed a sketch I drew myself to indicate progress over a two-year period. I started on this program January 1, 1972, with just petroleum jelly. Using the crude oil (and Atomidine) has speeded up hair growth considerably. My sideburns have widened and a peak has grown out toward the eyebrow. As you can see the hair is also growing [on my head from the bottom up and closing in from each side on the top. There is now hair over the entire top of the head and it’s thin but it’s there. And it wasn’t there before." C. B., New York

"I have two older brothers and one who is nine years younger than me. All of them, as well as my father, have had hair and scalp problems, including itchy, scaly scalp and hair loss. For example, my younger brother has lost about one-third of his hair I have been using Crudoleum for over ten years, and it has maintained a full head of hair and a healthy scalp. In addition, the treatment has prevented the gray hair that all my brothers have. Thanks to Crudoleum, my hair is the envy of my brothers. I use it at least once per month." C.M., Virginia Beach, Virginia

I found a "victim" who has had a shiny baldpate for seventeen years and had been hunting remedies for loss of his hair. When I received the crude oil, I began the treatment. Would you believe that after the first treatment and I didn’t see him until five days later that he had the beginning of 'fuzz' right through the center of his head. He has now had a total of seven treatments and his head looks like a new lawn coming in. I am using the same treatment on my own hair since my thick hair had thinned after surgery and the doe says that there is nothing that could be done about it. Hah!" An Indiana Woman

WASH AWAY GRAY WITH FORMULA 636
Yet another product recommended in the readings for rest wring color was Formula 636. In addition, it has been found to improve hair quality and enhance growth, and rejuvenate the entire system. The Formula, a combination of herbs and substances high in essential vitamins and minerals includes Atomidine, liver extract, ginseng, lactated pepsin and Black Snake Root extract.

Atomidine is ‘‘atomic iodine," a form of iodine claimed by Cayce to be less toxic to the body than so me other forms o f the necessary trace mineral - The most frequently prescribed mineral in the readings, Atomidine was recommended for a variety (If conditions including arthritis, baldness, and poison ivy. Liver extract is particularly rich in B-complex vitamins. Ginseng is a native American herb that, according to the readings, rejuvenates the body. In Case 636-1, Cayce

suggested that the formula could be used as an activative force to beautifying of that which is to man his crown of strength and to a host of satisfied misers report that the product not only enhances hair growth, but acts as a balancing and energizing tonic for the entire system.

Anyone with hypothyroid trouble like I have will know what I’m talking about. After only Five weeks of taking it, my hair is getting as dark as it was when I was in my teens; people are accusing me of dyeing my hair, but believe me, I’m not. I’ve lost all my gray hair. In case 636-1, Cayce suggested that the formula could be used as "an activative force to beautifying of that which is to man his crown of strength and to a woman her head of beauty, for to a man hair on the head in several readings in conjunction with crude oil, is as strength to woman is as beauty.

OLIVE OIL SHAMPOO
Olive Oil Shampoo, the most frequently recommended shampoo in the readings, is a pure Castile shampoo gentle enough for babies and excellent for all hair types, but especially hair that is dry or damaged. In many of the readings, Cayce suggested that it was particularly beneficial to) the scalp: ‘‘For this particular body, use Olive Oil Shampoo, for there is needed the oil/or the scalp and the opening of the pores of the same. [3379- 1] In another reading Cayce said: Plain Castile is the best to be used (Castile shampoo, see, will add a luster [658-2].

In addition, it was also advised in several readings in conjunction white crude oil, white Vaseline and 20% grain alcohol for treatment and prevention baldness: ‘‘As for this particular condition, it arises from a poor circulation. Once a week we would wash the hair with a very pure soap (preferable the purest, which is Castile) Then massage into the scalp very small quantities of the white Vase line, each time after the shampoo. The next day clarify same with a twenty percent solution alcohol: grain alcohol, not wood or denatured.
