Skin Brushing Success Clue

Figuring things out for yourself is a freedom everyone has. 
Use that freedom to make up your own mind and do what's best for you.

The Skin
The skin is the largest organ and covers the entire outside of our body.  Most people know to clean the outside of their bodies and do it on a regular basis.  But what they do not consider or even take advantage of is cleaning their entire body, outside and in.  Let's take a look at the stats.  The outside of our bodies represents about 10% of the entire body's cleaning area and the remaining 90% represents the inside of our body. As you will learn cleaning the inside of your body is far more important than cleaning the outside.  Mr. Edgar Cayce has this to say about the value of internal cleaning. "It was more important to cleanse the inside of the body than the outside". He continued by say, "What you 'Think' combined with what you 'Eat' becomes who you are (your body)."

In our self-help program back to natural health you will learn and become responsible for your own health and share this information and knowledge with your friends and love ones to be passed from generation to generation.  There are two ways in which you can stimulate and clean your body, one is externally and the other is internally.  Skin brushing is a form of external stimulation and cleaning.  I will list and connect hyperlinks to all of the forms of internal and external stimulation and cleaning at the end of this chapter. 

Skin brushing is a great method for cleaning both the inside and outside of your body.  It is highly recommended for both preventing and recovering from sicknesses and injuries. 
 
Skin Brushing
Skin brushing is one of the better self-help health care methods available to us today.  Skin brushing can be performed on your self while the skin is dry or wet.  Whether you brush daily before getting dressed for the day, during showers or while in the bath tub skin brushing is a great way to start or end the day.  Stimulation of the skin activates natural healing pathways within your body.  And the stimulation of these natural healing abilities maintain normal health while being extremely effective for improving the quality and shortening the time in recovering from injuries.  Skin stimulation removes toxins and unwanted materials from pores and other external surface areas.  It also stimulates nerve beds within its structure that in turn activate normal healing pathways and healing processes throughout your body.  It is a well established fact that skin brushing paves the way to a better quality of healing and health. It’s what makes natural health care different from any other non-Wholistic program you might have heard about, read, or tried.  There are no drugs involved, no toxic reactions or contraindications to be concerned about, only the commitment to yourself to perform it on a regular basis.  Let's get deeper into skin brushing.

Skin brushing can be used over the entire body or just to special local areas to stimulate the body’s normal inflammatory healing response.  This can be an excellent daily routine for the "Prevention of sickness & disease".  Skin brushing is easily  incorporated into your morning or evening shower or bath.  But remember skin brushing can also be used very effectively for rehabbing new and old injured areas on your body as well.   

"Itching" Your Body's Automatic Healing Process
There are many automatic systems within your body including your healing processes.  Your heart beats automatically.  You breathe automatically.  And your body's "Automatic Healing Process" is another.  It is activated when your body produces an itching response to the needed and necessary areas.  You then will automatically scratch that area, it in turn, turns red with a fresh blood supply and the automatic healing process is under way.

Skin brushing activates your body's automatic healing and immune processes.  It is the sensation of itching that cues you to your body’s desire to activate the healing process to any one specific area or region.  Itching occurs on its own or during and sometimes following skin brushing and is a reminder that scratching or brushing is necessary.  The "Itching Cue" is a vital part in the process for toxic conditions and for tissue repair and recovery from injuries.  Itching will occur over a new injured site as well as old ones.  This automatic cue to the healing process helps the body provide the best quality of tissue repair as well as helps prevents unwanted fibrous tissue formations.  So, both scratching with your fingers or by skin brushing are excellent ways of activating your body's natural healing inflammatory process. This amazing healing mechanism is incredible to watch and to be a part of as it helps maintain or accelerate the recovery of sick and injured tissues in your body back to health. 

Toxic Conditions
Your skin in one of four major intake and elimination systems in your body.  These systems are your:
1. Alimentary Canal & digestive system - for moving solid materials 
2. Skin - eliminates water and solid materials 
3. Lungs and its respiratory system for moving air and very little solid materials
4. Kidney - a water retrieval system and also remove excessive or unwanted liquids
    & solid materials.

Elimination Under Normal Conditions 
When all four elimination systems are functioning properly the alimentary canal (colon) is responsible for approximately 73% of all elimination and the other three make up the remaining 27%.  However, during times of increased physically active your skin eliminates the majority of material in its cooling process.   So the colon, on a daily basis removes the majority of solid materials when all four elimination systems are functioning correctly. And the skin removes the majority of solid materials during those times of increased daily activity.  But what happens to the elimination process when things are not as they should be?

Predictably, the colon is the first system to slow down or stop.  Why? Eating outside of its live cell alkaline food digestive processes. Eating the wrong foods and drinking the wrong liquids are very harmful to you. When looking for the underlying causes of sickness and disease processes the "Colon" has been linked to 92% of them.  So, when you "Change your eating Habits" you "Change the quality of your health" too.  

When the alimentary canal system slows down, stops, or backs up it directs its elimination materials to the other three eliminations systems.  When the skin, lungs, and kidney's pickup the overflow and they themselves become overloaded and start to malfunction.  Since the skin can eliminate the most This overloading onto the skin produces a skin toxic condition.  

Your "Skin" is your first indicator of a internal  toxic body.  When your internal body becomes toxic it will overflow into your skin causing your skin to become irritated and begin to itch.  There are several main ports of elimination of the skin including your face, mouth, arm pits, inside of your upper thigh region, feet, and toe nails.  Odor, another internal toxic indicator, is also eliminated from these same ports.  Daily plaque build-ups on your tongue and teeth is yet another indicator of the presence of a toxic internal condition.  These areas are among the first to start itching indicating your body has become toxic. This itching response is a indication that your internal body is dirty or toxic and needs to be cleaned.  Scratching of this area will produce a healing process but if the internal body is dirty the itching will continue.  The immediate solution is colon hydrotherapy.  But the life style changes include thinking and attitude changes, diet changes, body cleaning changes, an exercise program you can easily maintain, and the responsibility of caring for your body through natural health care providers such as; any form of massage, chiropractic adjustments, colon hydrotherapy, breathing lessons, and Yoga.   

Premature Skin Wrinkling & Aging
Internal toxic conditions are the leading causative factors for premature skin wrinkling and aging.  And the internal toxic condition accelerates tissue aging in all parts of the body far greater than any other toxic condition including the external skin.  Most ladies concern themselves with caring of their face, hair, neck, and hands.  And this includes many different types of skin care treatments including toxic prescription drugs and radical surgical procedures.  Had they learned the importance of internal cleanliness all of their radical treatments could have been avoided.  Here is a very interesting fact about facial care.  Skin brushing coupled with daily facial exercising eliminates almost all skin wrinkles and unwanted skin lines.  This process tightens up the skin tissue and brings in needed blood circulations. Individuals who do skin brushing and facial exercising routinely look 10 to 20 years younger over those who do not.  And sometimes these individuals even look a lot younger.  If you want to look and stay younger looking also consider ear candling and facial massage.  Most ear candlers perform a lymphatic facial massage during each treatment. For the body to achieve or maintain optimal health the body systems must work effectively, coordinated, and in harmony with the rest of your body.  We sometimes say that your body must be working on all eight cylinders. The skin provides the easiest access to immediate stimulation that activates the coordination and harmony necessary to these systems.  The more important of these systems are the nervous and the endocrine systems.

Immune & Endocrine Systems
One of the keys to good health comes through the proper functioning of your immune system and the quality of its underlying endocrine system. If the endocrine system functions properly, your chances of growing sick become next to none.  Properly functioning immune and endocrine systems allow your body to grow old very slowly.  As you will learn the endocrine and central nervous systems, together are responsible for keeping the body healthy and vigorous through old age.  So, you may ask, "What are the underlying causative problems to premature tissue aging? 

Let's take a look at them.  Poor eating and nutritional habits, inactive life style or living, and environmental (internal & external) pollutions are very toxic to your body.  These three primary causes, cause your body's internal glands to become toxic allowing the onset of dis-ease and sickness. Did you know that most illnesses are directly related to internal toxic malfunctioning glands?  According to statistics I have read they advise that  amazingly approximately 92% of all diseases have their origin in your colon.  With the colon slowed down and often times stopped the excessive toxic loads are placed onto the kidneys, lungs, and skin and create their sicknesses. 

Skin Brushing Will Improve The Quality Of Your Health
alone will improve your health considerably.  You may ask "How is this possible?"   It is because skin is one of the best ways of reaching the endocrine system and all the glands it reaches very quickly.  And, at the same time it gets them to respond successfully.

Also, did you know that skin brushing stimulates toxic and overworked glands, promoting toxin elimination and, at the same time reinstates these glands to return to a proper functioning state of health. It has been my observation that skin brushing produces such extraordinary results through the individual's own responsibility of repetitious application.  When individual's begin skin brushing (dry, wet or both) on a regular daily basis they remark that they feel more energized, vital, and full of life's energy.  I share with them that this is the first step in feeling better and remind them that "Skin brushing is simple in its application, easy to do, and it gets great results.  

But skin brushing alone is not enough.  You must also consider: 
1. Changing your Thinking Process and Behavior Patterns
2. Eating as close to nature (Alkaline Diet) as possible 
    (live cell foods) remembering to be discreet about what
     you put into your mouth
3. Replace your inactivity with fun; do exercising activities 
    with friends 
4. Take "Breathing Lessons" on how breathing controls 
    your emotions, thoughts, creations, life, and health 

Next, let's consider some more automatic beneficial aspects experienced through skin brushing.  These benefits are build-in automatic processes within the body called "Crossover" and "Over-flow".

Crossover & Over-Flow Stimulations
There are two unique neurological processes that the body uses to communicate and heal itself at a faster rate.  These two processes are known as:
1. Crossover
2. And  Over-flow
 
Crossover  
Crossover is a bilateral stimulation influence that is produced through skin brushing the uninvolved or good side of the body. Through skin brushing of the good side, neck, low back, shoulder, arm or leg, the  nervous system produces an automatic 20% cross over stimulation to the involved (opposite) or bad side.  

Example Of Crossover
As an example let's use the 10 scale to demonstrate this naturally occurring body  experience.  Let's allow 0 to equal no pain at all and let 10 equal the worst pain you could possibly imagine.  If the individual rates his or her pain of the involved side to an 8 then following the stimulation of the good or uninvolved side of their body they would report that the level of pain intensity will have decreased by approximately 20%. In this example the math looks like this 8 x 20% = 1.6.  Hence their pain value will have decreased by 1.6, which would produce a new pain value of 6.4.   

 By working the good side first, in part or in a full range of skin brushing, the body produces a 20% improved stimulation to the opposite or involved side of your body. Next, let's look at Over-flow.

Over-flow
Over Flow is the process of skin brushing above and below the involved site of complaint. Skin brushing in the "Pain Free Zone", also known as the "Green Zone" produces a neurological normalizing overflow effect into the "Pain Zone" or problem area, also known as the "Red Zone". This normalizing neurological over-flowing stimulation effect immediately improves the condition without actually working in the red zone.  The skin brushing action also improves the restricted range of motion to the injured area, if any is present.  So, by skin brushing above and below the involved site we send normalizing neurological stimulations into the problem area as well as improving the range of motion.  The activation of the body's over-flow process improves the involved site by a 30% value.

Crossover/Over-flow
When we combine the above two we get what is called the  crossover/over-flow effect.   That is to say that by working on the good side above and below the area in question, the body responds with a additional stimulation to the bad side above that stimulation value mentioned above.   

Crossover, over-flow, and the combination of both are excellent built-in automatic body stimulating responses for normalizing, healing, and the tissue's re-educational process. Combined, they improve the involved site by 50% above that of just skin brushing the involved site by itself.  I feel this is a needed and necessary piece of information for those who want to get better and stay better.  Next, let’s consider the skin.


The Skin - A Vital & Complex Organ
How many know a lot about the skin or even take the time to consider it when we think about our sickness or health status? Usually people think of skin in a purely cosmetic sense. They apply creams, tonics, or lotions wanting to improve its quality and appearance.  Skin is not supposed to get wrinkled or look old if you are willing to eat as close to nature as possible and do some simple exercising, such as just walking three times per week.  This along with skin brushing and facial exercising will all but completely eliminate skin wrinkles.  You will look many years younger and produce extra energy allowing you to become more active.  Now remember that skin looks good suntanned but the high risk and dangers of skin diseases and cancer are certainly not worth it, in my opinion. The skin has many functions but some of the more recognizable are; a protective covering that guards against infections and other unwanted invasions, as well as being a solar photosynthesis collector for the necessary electromagnetic energy (Orgone energy) that runs our body.   If we didn’t have it, we would die.

It Eliminates
The skin is the largest eliminative organ of the body and one of the four major intake and eliminations systems. The digestive tract, kidneys, and lungs are the other three.   Over the course of a regular inactive day the skin eliminates over a pound of waste products mixed in with its sweat. In individuals who are active or in athletes who are very active the skin eliminates many times more.  Sweat glands are located through out the skin's surface and automatically eliminate unwanted metabolic waste produced. However, after the individual becomes inactive the skin slows down and performs much less.  And when this individual complicates this inactive matter with tight polyester clothing and poor eating habits the skin is no longer able to perform its elimination process.  

It Breathes
Another need of the skin is fresh air.  The skin needs to breathe. It needs fresh air and stimulation to work correctly. Remembering to expose your body to fresh air daily for about ten to fifteen minutes is another excellent idea.  Exposing your entire body is even a better idea to optimize your health. Remember that tight synthetic clothing, including polyester materials, does not allow your skin to breath. Lose fitting cotton clothing is a good choice for allowing both skin breathing and elimination.   

It Absorbs
The skin also functions as an absorptive organ. Its pores are a major intake and elimination highway absorbing sun light, oxygen, vitamins, minerals, and even unwanted material such as environmental pollutions.  So remember when you routinely apply toxic facial cosmetic substances to your skin, they will be absorbed into your body and internal organs. This is known as "Self-Induced" toxic material build-ups. What are some common self-Induced toxic substances? To start with let's mention Aluminum Chlorhydrate (alum) found in antiperspirants. Aluminum is very toxic to the body, let alone your skin.  Alum causes your skin pores to constrict and shutdown.  Those skin areas exposed to aluminum chlorhydrate then cease to function.  With proper diet, skin brushing, baking soda baths, and cotton clothing you’ll no longer need antiperspirants. 

Try this simple 30 day experiment and virtually eliminate all odors from your mouth, under your arms, your feet, and your body.  Greatly reduce or completely stop eating animal proteins (meat) and dairy products.  It is a well known fact that people who have already done this, especially vegetarians, will tell you that they no longer have mouth, arm pit, or body odors. And because of these simple diet changes they also have little to no dental problems or body hygiene difficulties.

Our Civilized Environment

Civilized man and the environment he has created for himself is very polluted and not healthy. In fact our civilized (artificial) environment is a disease process all in itself. And those who live there are living examples of that process.  Getting away from the big cities and in a more rural setting you can find natural surroundings.  Natural surrounding that allow you to live a more natural life. Living with nature is how it was and still is - intended.  Life's natural processes, including your body's functions, work automatically when placed back into mother earth's natural settings.  In this environmental setting your skin breathes, absorbs and eliminates naturally and automatically. But when you place yourself into our highly unnatural crowded civilized environment, without exception, your will need to pay careful attention to your skin and other body functions.  As you start to realize that the above is very true you will begin to consider other options open to you.  Remember in this process to carefully consider:
1. Live cell alkaline diets 
2. Shared fun exercising activity
3. And daily skin brushing.

Live Cell Foods
What are Live Cell Foods?  Any naturally grown, preferably organic, food that still has alive and living cells within it that have not been destroyed by heat or through food processing methods.  Examples are vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouts and grasses, and fruits.  

Harmful Foods

The foods to avoid are listed below including the Six processed deadly whites:
  1. Animal proteins (red meat, pork, fowl, lamb, fish, & 
      wild game) They produce an irritating acid on the skin.
  2. Cooked foods (over approximately 115 degrees F). No
      live cell food values.
  3. Processed and canned foods including TV dinners. 
  4. Artificial Sweeteners (Nutra-sweet, Sugar Twins, 
      Sweet-N-Low) They cause caners and tumors.
  5. Sugar (candy, cakes, ice cream, pastries, sodas). 
  6. Flour (bleached flours, bread, cereals) 
                  Note:100% Whole Wheat is OK.
  7. Salts 
  8. Animal Fats (lard and fried foods)
  9. Dairy (milk, butter, cheese, ice cream, yogurt)
10. White Vinegar
11. Alcohol (distilled, beer, & wine)
12. Carbonated drinks (all)
13. Tap & unpurified chlorinated waters
14. Fluoridation 

At this point you are probably ask, "Well now that you have eliminated everything I like what can I eat?"  Edgar Cayce offers a  Alkaline Diet, which if followed is designed to automatically restore your health.  Let's continue with skin brushing and the polluted "Civilized" man-made environments.

Like all polluted body systems and organs, when the skin becomes seriously malfunctioned, it will bring down the whole structure and create serious illnesses and diseases in its path. Yet, like so many of us who take our health for granted, skin care gets substituted with a quick cosmetic cover up. Remember that the choices you make dictate the life you will live.  If you do not like the life you are living you have the power to make a successful change.  How?  Change your thinking. This action alone will  change your life. You have the power right now at this moment to decide to do something about it.  The real question is "Will you?"  I always find it amazing how alternative procrastinations and circumstantial factors pop up to keep you in your same old boat. And the rut just keeps getting deeper and deeper.  When you finally get placed in the midlife crisis situation you will discover that it is at or near the to late point for change and you are stuck.  Health issues are what your mind uses as leverage to get you off of the fence. 

Good live cell nutrition, exercise, and skin brushing are absolutely necessary for getting back on the road to health and keeping us on it. However, if you choose to live in a man made civilized polluted environment you need to be self-creative. When your skin doesn't do the job it is supposed to do, you will need to look for self-help  alternative solutions.  The understanding knowledge is not enough.  You will need to act or to take action.  Anything less will never be enough.  Applying the full benefit of skin brushing, live cell nutrition, and a fun exercise activity speaks for itself. Skin brushing is simple, easy, and pleasurable. Live cell diet changes only require a change in your thinking.  Most necessary life style changes can be adapted to your present living situation.  All that is required of you is a creative and informed mind.  No matter how much knowledge you know it is no good unless you apply it. You personal power is to apply creative solution to your present situation to improve your quality of life.  Will you do that for yourself or another?  But whatever your answer remember there is a time coming when you will finally get tired of your situation, your life style and its sabotaging effects on your health and be mentally leveraged into making a serious change.  Then you will listen.  But for now let's discuss other benefits of skin brushing.

Skin Brushing Stimulates Acupuncture Points 
Dry and wet skin brushing also stimulates acupuncture points and meridians.  The Chinese have long known about and marked over three million acupuncture nerve points, which spread throughout all of the skin's surface. Seven hundred of these energy points are known as nodal. When these acupuncture points known as nodals are stimulated, electromagnetic energy (Orgone Energy) currents flow along energy highways called meridians.  This energy flow along these meridians can stimulate or suppress the activity to any specific systems, organs, and glands.  As an example, the tip of your big toe is connected to the pituitary gland located within the brain. A point in the right hand thumb-forefinger web connects to the liver.  Brushing the skin in these specific body areas will automatically stimulate both the pituitary gland and liver.  And skin brushing takes advantage of these electromagnetic energy points.  By applying skin brushing, wet or dry, to acupuncture points, your entire body including its nervous system are electromagnetically stimulated.  This action reinstates balance and health to all tissue levels of your body.  Systems, organs, glands, muscles, ligaments, and everything within your body is stimulated by brushing your skin. Skin brushing even stimulates the immune system and the production of red and white blood cells.

Starting Tip

Choosing  A Brush


Brush Size
The brush size should be about the size of your hand with a moderately soft natural vegetable fiber bristle. Nylon or synthetic fibers are not recommended because they are too sharp and can hurt your skin.

Where To Purchase Skin Brushes
Skin brushes can be purchased in the Health and Beauty Aid sections at K-Mart and Wal-Mart or other beauty aid stores (The Body Shop) and in health food stores. If you want to get the original skin brush look for the  Tampico Brush (stiffer bristles). They can be found only in health food stores.

What Skin Brushes Look Like
The brushes usually are about 5" long and 3" wide.  They sometimes have a cloth strap attached to the brush so you can use your hand for hand application.  They also have a 12" to 14" handle that attaches to the brush for applications to those hard to reach spots.

Brush Cleaning
Your brush should be cleaned as often as you wash your hair. You may use the your shampoo or bar of hand soap you keep placed in your bathroom to clean your brush.  But Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap, purchased at any health food store, makes your brush last a lot longer.  After wet brushing remember to hang or place your brush so that the bristles may dry from the water exposure. May I suggest that you use separate brushes for wet and dry brushing.

Skin Sensitivity& Brushing
Skin sensitivity varies a lot from person to person. But initially start with a softer brush bristle.  Remember to test the brush on your skin to determine your skin's sensitivity level.  If the brush bristles are to hard they will feel harsh on your skin surface.  If this is the case look for a brush that has softer ones.  Some individuals may be able to with stand a harder firmer brush but generally most are not. So, generally speaking you will probably require a softer finer at first until your skin firms up and can with stand firmer brush bristles. Many have found that as they continue brushing they can easily advance up to a firmer brush in time.  However, remember many parts of your body are more sensitive than others and require lighter and softer brushing strokes with finer softer brushes. You may choose, like many others, to have a selection of various brushes.  Some of the more sensitive areas are your face, ears, inner thighs, abdomen, and chest.  May I suggest that you brush gently to start with in order to test the area being brushed. When your skin has become more acclimated and used to your brushing, you may chose to advance up to a more coarser brush bristle.  Also you may chose to use a Loofah bathing sponge to clean and stimulate your skin with (see below). But, which ever the case may be always remember to first test for your skin's comfort zone by rubbing the bristles of the brush or loofah sponge over the back of your hand. The sensation should be comfortable and pleasant.  Avoid any unpleasant or irritating feeling brushes or sponges.  You should know that your skin adapts and firms up very quickly and within a few days to a week the initial tenderness leaves.

How To Brush
Single Location
Skin brushing can be performed to a single area such as your hand or forearm, your neck or low back, or to your knee, ankle, or foot just about anywhere and at anytime.  Single areas are commonly done throughout the day when job stress or injuries have effected them.  

Total Body
Complete body skin brushing is best done nude while in front of a mirror during your wake up time in the morning.  If you are going to dry brush is should be done before you shower. And remember that dry brushing must be dry to create the correct skin-brush friction. If you are going to wet brush it should be done while you are in the shower or during your bath.
 
Athletic Warm Up
Many athletes have found out that skin brushing completely warms up their body including hard to get to places and sore and tight areas . They have found that after a few weeks of brushing they perform a lot better and the process becomes second nature.  Soon you will be brushing your body as regularly as you brush your teeth. In fact, many athletes carry their own set of brushes in their gear bags and think it unthinkable to even start their training workouts or competition without  brushing first, or during and even afterwards.   

To The Men
All well designed programs will tell you that it takes about 30 days to see and feel the changes.  This one is no different.  May I suggest you try this simple experiment below.   Change nothing in your behaviors or daily acts except to add the below suggestion. If you have excessive weight accumulation or cellulite build-up on some part of your body such as your stomach, skin brush this area everytime you bathe (shower or tub).  Do a good job skin brushing this area each time you bathe. If the area is your stomach following the skin brushing your stomach will turn red from increase blood flow - not from irritation.  Do this for four weeks and see if you don 't notice that the fatty tissue and cellulite around your waist decreases and your pants fit looser.  Also you should notice a better digestive tract flow and regularity. All of these benefits only require a minutes at the end of your bath each day.

To The Ladies

Instructions & Cautions For Skin Brushing
The instructions below are laid out and follow the body's lymphatic and blood vascular flow.  You will get better results if you follow the below sequence but any skin brushing will most definitely help and improve the condition.  Before we get started let's mention some the conditions where skin brushing is not recommended.

Cautions: 
1. Do not skin brush on or over poison ivy, poison oak, or poison sumacs.  
2. Do not skin brush on or over skin rashes, wounds, cuts, infections, or other skin
    problems, including all inflammatory circulatory problems such as phlebitis.
3. Do not "Over Brush" any area as it can produce skin irritations.
4. Start gently with soft strokes. 

Full Body Skin Brushing Suggested Procedure
Use the full body skin brush procedure as listed below. And with time and experience the whole process should take less more than ten minutes.  You may ask later why do I need to brush both "Back and Forth" and "Up and Down".  Well, it is because there is an automatic built-in stretch reflex stimulation program located within your skin.  As you activate your skin's stretch reflexes by brushing both back and forth and  up and down your body's automatic and natural healing responses start to work . I hope this helps you to understand why we brush both ways.

1. Start With Your - Hands and Fingers
1. Holding your right hand with your fingers extended, brush 
    each finger back and forth 6 to 8 times.
2. Brush the entire surface of the palm side of the hand from
    the wrist to the fingertips back and forth 6 to 8 times; then 
    do the same for the top of the hand.
3. With palm down, brush the web between the thumb and 
    forefinger back and forth 12 to 16 times.
4. With palm up, brush the web between the thumb and 
    forefinger back and forth 12 to 16 times.
5. Now do the left hand exactly the same way as outlined
    above.

2. Advance Up To Your - Arms & To Your Neck
6. Brush the entire surface of the right arm from the wrist 
    to the elbow UP towards your neck and head.  Then 
    repeat this procedure from your left wrist to your arm 
    and on up to your neck and head. 
7. Now, start brushing your feet to your legs, knees, and 
    on up to your hips. As in above, start with your right foot 
    and brush the entire surface of the bottom of the right 
    foot back and forth 6 to 8 times.  Next go to your right 
    ankle and brush towards your knee and continue 
    brushing up to your hip.  Repeat this process to your 
    left feet and leg.
8. Number 8 has six parts.  Part A, B, C, D, E, & F.
    A. Brush across the tops of the toes as well as back 
         and forth 6 to 8 times. Then do the bottom of the toes.
    B. Work upward from the toes, bringing the brush back 
        and forth as well as up and down across the top of 
        the foot 6 to 8 times in each area up to the point at 
        which the ankle begins.
   C. Brush around the ankles back and forth and up and 
        down 6 to 8 times.
   D. Brush from the ankle to the knee UP towards the heart 
        6 to 8 times, gradually work around the entire surface 
        of the leg. Don’t neglect the knee area. Brushing will firm
        up saggy skin around the knee caps and free up 
        congested materials by placing circulation back into the 
        knee regions.
   E. Stand and brush from the top of the knee to the hip, always
        UP towards the heart, 6 to 8 times. Gradually work around 
        the leg so that every square inch of skin is brushed.
   F. Now repeat the entire procedure for the left foot and leg.

NOTE: For those of you who have cellulite problems double or triple the amount of
             skin brushing to those affected areas.

3. Do Your Neck & Base of Your Head - Next
9. Lock brush at the base of head. The brush should remain 
    in place. With two hands on the brush, rock it 12 to 16 times
    up and down and 12 to 16 times side to side. This amazing 
    neck stimulation method helps to stimulate your body's 
    master gland called the pituitary gland.
10. Number 10 has three parts.  Part A.  Part B. And Part C.
    A. Hold the brush with your right hand, placing it under your 
         ear on your jaw on the right side of your head. Slide it 
         GENTLY along the jawbone, ending by pulling through 
         under the chin. Do this 6 to 8 times.
    B. Hold the brush in your right hand at the nape of neck, 
         then slide it GENTLY around to the right side and 
         forward to the larynx. Do this 6 to 8 times. This helps to
         stimulate and activate both the thyroid and parathyroid 
         glands to utilize calcium.
    C. Hold the brush in your right hand at the dowager’s hump’ 
         on the top of the spine and bring the brush GENTLY 
         around to the right and slide through the hollow of sternal 
         notch on top of breast bone, just below the Adam’s Apple. 
         (Women: Do not brush breasts). Do this 6 to 8 times. This 
         stimulates the thymus gland, and will help strengthen your 
         immune system. Holding the brush with your left hand, do 
         the left side of the head and neck in the same way.

Lymphatic System (Drainage & Sewage System)
11. Remember To Stand while your are performing this 
      brushing technique.  
      Hold the brush firmly in the left armpit with the right hand.  
      With the brush locked firmly in place, rotate it 6 to 8 times
      to the left and 6 to 8 times to the right. Then do the right 
      armpit, using your left hand to hold the brush.
12. Hold the brush firmly in the right groin with both hands.  
       With the brush remaining in place, rotate it 6 to 8 times
       to the left and 6 to 8 times to the right. Then repeat the
      technique on the left groin.

4. Next - Do The Front and Sides of Your Body
13. Holding the brush in your right hand, brush the right side up
      and down 12 to 16 times from the upper thigh all the way to
      under the arm. Women should hold their breast clear with 
      the left hand out of the way of the brush. Then do the left 
      side, using your left hand to hold the brush.
14. Brush back and forth across and around the waistline 
      12 to 16 times
15. Brush in a circular motion at center between rib hollow 
      (solar plexus) 12 to 16 times to the left and 12 to 16 times
      to the right. Starting at the top and working all the way 
      down, finish up the front of the body in any direction 
      (6 to 8 times), but be sure to exclude the breasts 
      (in women) and face since this tissue is very sensitive.

5. Now - Do Your Back - Working Down From Your Neck To Your Hips
16. Holding the brush with two hands, brush up and down 12
       to 16 times along the spine starting at the coccyx 
       (tailbone) and reaching as high as you can.
17. Holding the brush with one hand, brush up and down 12 
      to 16 times along the spine, starting at the base of neck 
      or dowager’s hump and reaching down as far as you can. 
      Finish the back in any direction.
18. Brush the buttocks in any direction covering the entire 
      area 6 to 8 times. Give special attention to the buttocks
      and upper thighs. This will help rid the body of cellulite. 
      After brushing, take a shower to wash away dead skin 
      particles.

Surprisingly in a short time you will notice the benefits of skin brushing. You should notice that your muscle tone is better, the distribution and reduction of fat and cellulite deposits is better, and a revitalization feeling of being energized.

Water & Temperature Stimulation
You can effectively use water and temperature to assist in any changes you would like to make in your body.  In learning physical therapy methods and techniques you study the three states of tissue changes that occur and how to effectively assist them with a therapeutic rehabilitation program.  These three states are:
1. Acute - new problems that range from 1 to 4 days old
2. Sub-Acute - problems that range from 4 to 10 days old
3. And Chronic - any problem over 10 days old

Cold water (above 32 degrees) is used for all acute conditions. When bathing all that is necessary is the cold water that runs out of your tap.  Nothing colder is necessary. Alternating cold and hot (never above 106 degrees F) water applications are used on Sub-Acute and Chronic condition.  And hot water (not to exceed 106 degrees F) to be applied to all chronic condition.  The alternation cold and hot works very well for both a temperature gradient pumping action and a temperature gradient stimulating action.  Try the alternating cold and hot water treatment while skin brushing in the shower.  You will find it very stimulation.  But remember to always end this treatment with hot water.

Clothing Recommendations 
To maintain the benefits of skin brushing, be sure that your skin only comes into contact with natural fibers that will allow it to effectively breathe. Cotton clothing is a good solution.  Cotton underwear, cotton shirts, and especially cotton socks are excellent. 

The pores on the bottom of the feet are twelve to fourteen times larger than any other place on the body.  This is to allow for a better and more efficient natural drainage. Synthetic socks are bad news here as they will block this drainage process. Cotton, on the other hand is comfortable, absorbent, entirely beneficial, and in many cases just as cost effective as the unhealthy polyester. 

I have never understood the many harmful side effects created by clothing worn by fashion seekers.  Cotton works with your body to absorb and remove body water (sweat) and any toxic material contained within it. Polyesters, on the other hand do not. They allow this unwanted body elimination material to be reabsorbed. But, as always it is your choice.  And it will be your benefits or consequences.

Bathing & Cleaning With a Loofah Sponge
First let's discuss the Loofah bathing sponge.  A Loofah is a natural bathing sponge made from the fibrous interior of the loofah plant.  The Loofah's natural fibers stimulate circulation and removes dead skin cell, which leave the skin healthy, soft, and vibrant. Loofahs can be used with soap, creams, or lotions but these products are not necessary to clean your skin and body.  And interesting observation is the fact that most spas and salons worldwide use Loofahs for cleaning and cleansing of your body.

Direction For Loofah Usage
Wet the Loofah and squeeze out a few times to soften its fibers.  After this procedure you may then use the loofah to bathe with.  Also, if you wish, you may wish to add soap, cream, or lotion to the Loofah and then gently massage and clean your skin.  Remember to pay careful attention not to irritate those areas of your skin that are rough or dry.  It is recommended that after bathing you gently pat down those rough and dry skin areas and follow that with an applying your favorite skin moisturizer.  

Do not use the loofah on broken skin, cuts, abrasions, or wounds.  When finished rinse, ring out, and store your loofah in a well ventilated area to dry in between its usage.

Prevention And Correction Awareness
Skin care through skin brushing and loofah cleaning is one of the best self-help tools that is available to everyone.  It not only allow the body to correct disease conditions within your body but it also can prevent then from forming as well.  My mother always taught me that it is a far better idea to employ the techniques and methods of 20-20 foresight as to be required to experience the painful memories that come with the rehabilitation from 20-20 hindsight. 

I have found that when a person becomes aware of the progressive outward symptomatologies and where they will advance to next as they get worse they can take immediate corrective actions long before the condition can become advanced enough to become a diagnosable disorder or disease process. 

Your outward physical symptoms will advance from simple to an advanced disease condition in the following progressive order
1. Tired & Weak are the initial stages of any disease or sickness.  If left uncared 
     for through the lack of any preventive process they will advance to #2. 
2. Stiff & Tight are the next two advancements in noticeable outward symptomology.  
     If left uncared for at this stage of preventive actions, it will advance to #3.
3. Soreness is the next level of advancement in symptomology.  If left uncared 
    for at this stage it will advance to #4.
4. Achiness is the next level of symptomology advancement. If left uncared 
    for at this stage of preventive actions, it will advance to #5. 
5. Tenderness is the next level of advancement in symptomology.  If left uncared
     for at this stage of preventive actions, it will advance to #6.
6. Pain is the last level of symptomology advancement.  At this level everyone 
    takes an action to correct this self-created disorder. 

Also, when the outward symptoms first appear they will usually only occur "Occasionally".  But as they advance they will go to "Intermittently".  And if still left uncared for they will advance to "Constantly".

The Getting Better Revitalization Symptomology Pathway
And as you begin to care for the condition it will regress by retracing its progressive symptomology.  That is to say it will reduce from "Constantly" to "Intermittently" to "Occasionally".  And it will also regress from Pain, to Tenderness. The Endocrine System
The endocrine system is made up of many glands. These glands generate as secretion of  hormones that are placed directly into the blood.  The endocrine system includes the following nine glands and their locations:

  1. Pineal gland
  2. Pituitary gland
  3. Parathyroid gland 
  4. Thymus gland 
  5. Adrenal glands
  6. Pancreas
  7. Ovaries (female)
  8. Testes (male)
  9. Thyroid gland

The exact distinctions between organs and glands are still not well known or understood yet. However, as a general rule organs function directly and actively.  For example organs like the heart - pumps and the kidneys - filter and the liver filters and stores, the lungs exchange gases during breathing and the stomach in one of the initial organs which start the digestive processes. 

Glands, on the other hand secrete and regulate. As an example the endocrine glands secrete and regulate hormones.  Hormones functions like traffic cops and are instantly dispatched to various parts of your body's systems to control, regulate, and direct many biological activities.  This process is very interesting because only tiny amounts are secreted to target their destination and to performs their delicate and complex tasks. We are still learning more about this great mysteries system and the miracles of health it automatically creates.  Next, let's discuss each of the above listed glands starting with the Pineal gland.

The Pineal Gland

The pineal gland is a tiny cone-shaped gland buried between the lobes of the brain. Its precise function is not well understood, but it is known to control or regulate the pituitary and adrenal glands. In ancient esoteric and spiritual systems, the pineal gland played a particularly important role: the seat of spiritual experience. In the psychic understanding, the pineal gland represents the "Third Eye" or "Psychic Eye".

Not enough is known about the pineal gland at t his time, however, to be specific about what it does when functioning properly and what it does not do when functioning improperly. 

Improved Psychic Awareness
Did you know that there are many organs, glands, and systems responsible for providing us with psychic perception and the pineal gland is but one of them.

5. Tasting (your tongue)
6. Knowing = Awareness through your conscious mind (learning in present time)

What is your sixth sense?  Well, your sixth sense can exist in one or more of the following different psychic areas.  They are:
1. Seeing (clairvoyance)
2. Hearing (clairaudience)
3. Touching or Feeling (clairsentience)
4. Smelling (clairaromatic)
5. Tasting (clairsavoriness)
6. Knowing (claircognacence) = Awareness through the communication to you
    from your Inner.
7. Dreaming awareness is through the communication of your Inner Self and you.

So, maybe you can begin to see why I say that your sixth sense has been mislabeled and misleading.  More correctly you should be aware that what exists in the physical must have started in the mental and spiritual forms.  Your five physical senses existed in your spiritual and mental states first.  And with your life‘s experiences and its awakening processes you will start to develop one or more of your existing five physical senses from your five physical senses.

So, what have we learned?  You have five physical and mental senses that work in both the physical and psychic mental planes or dimensions. Skin brushing increases your psychic awareness abilities at all levels but especially in your skin.  But for now let's return to our discussion of the endocrine gland system and the eight glands that make it up. 

The Pituitary Gland

The pituitary gland is situated behind the bridge of your nose and beneath the floor of the brain. This tiny gland (the size of a pea) is the master gland controlling the rest of the endocrine system. Among its many functions is the control of those systems in the body that determine such things as height and rate of body development. An under active pituitary produces dwarfism and retarded mental and sexual development in children. An overactive pituitary produces giantism. In women dysfunction of the pituitary disrupts the menstrual cycle. That’s how the Pill works. It confuses the pituitary, fooling it into sending the wrong signals. The steroids that athletes take to produce extra muscle affect the pituitary. They decrease the flow of the hormone that triggers male testosterone. This in turn reduces the amount of sperm produced and also shrinks the testicles. The pituitary is particularly sensitive to sugar. Too much sugar disturbs the delicate balance of the pituitary, which in turn sends improper signals to all the other glands under its control. The result is a general rather than a specific malaise, affecting your energy level, sense of well being, physical appearance, and overall identity.

The Thyroid and Parathyroid Glands

The thyroid gland, a butterfly-shaped organ in your throat, stores iodine and regulates weight, energy, and endurance. The four parathyroids (which are part of the thyroid) control the calcium and phosphorus metabolism of the body. If the thyroid secretes too much of the hormone thyroxine, the body’s organs work at an accelerated pace, and this results in a condition called hyperthyroidism. If too little thyroxine is secreted, often due to a lack of iodine in the diet, hypothyroidism (weight gain and loss of energy) is a result. White refined sugar has an adverse effect on the thyroid gland. In fact, it’s my opinion that too much sugar is one of the causes of osteoporosis today, since one of the important functions of the parathyroid, and also of the adrenal glands, is to break down and assimilate calcium. You can take large amounts of calcium and you won’t get much benefit from it without reducing your intake of sugar.

If your thyroid gland is sluggish, you may experience physical and mental sluggishness, problems losing weight, decreased body temperature, puffiness in the hands and face, and (rarely) goiter, an enlarged thyroid gland. When your thyroid is overactive, you may experience extreme nervousness, weight loss and/or difficulty gaining weight, rapid pulse, bulging eyes and eventually heart failure as the body’s systems overwork trying to handle all the accelerated organic functions.

Both hyperactivity and under activity of the thyroid often stem from a deficiency of iodine and zinc. In my experience, emotional stress has a very powerful adverse effect on the thyroid. But both conditions successfully respond to this natural self-help health care methods. Alkaline diets focus on those foods rich in iodine and zinc. These two necessary chemicals and many other forms of live cell food values are found in sea vegetables as sea-dulse and kelp.  Five to ten shelled pumpkin seeds daily provide enough zinc to maintain normal thyroid function.   Five to ten almonds and apricot seeds taken daily also provide great defenses against any disease formation while providing a better quality of health.    
            
An under active parathyroid gland does not process calcium and phosphorus efficiently, and mineral deposits build up in the arteries, setting you up for a heart attack or stroke. The solution is not increasing intake of calcium (either as dairy products or calcium supplements), since the gland will not process it. The causes of the disfunctioning parathyroid are complex: lack of exercise, lack of sunshine (vitamin D), generally poor selection of food and bad digestion and excessive emotional overstress and tension. All of these problems must be addressed to get the parathyroid working properly, plus a alkaline dietary emphasizing live cell foods and mineral-rich plant sea foods. Remember this as you begin to make wise and beneficial life style changes - here is no quick solutions or fixes.

In the case of an overactive parathyroid, it burns calcium up before it can be absorbed and even takes it away from the bones. This chemical process produces a condition known as osteoporosis.  Osteoporosis is a bone condition marked by brittle bones, bone deformities, bone cavities, spontaneous fractures, and prolonged bone healing times.  However, both the overactive parathyroid and the underactive parathyroid successfully responds to the same kind of treatment.  These natural treatment include changing to alkaline dietary changes, skin brushing, and daily walking exercises .

The Thymus Gland

The thymus gland is the mastermind of the immune system and is cylindrical-shaped and is located at the upper part of the breastbone, or sternum.  It controls and regulates the spleen, lymph nodes, bone marrow, tonsils, adenoids, appendix, and portions of the intestine. Until recently science thought the thymus gland was regarded as an evolutionary leftover useless, unproductive, and possibly even a source of trouble. But it has been by observation that science has always lagged behind in their explanations of how our body's work.  Now the thymus gland seems to be another medical research project where they are looking for drug controlling influences.  Holistically we do know that the thymus gland is responsible many health problems and solutions.  These problems range include allergies, arthritis, cancer ,and aging. 

When the thymus gland is functioning holistically these diseases are avoided. 

As a defense system against infections the thymus gland instructs specific white blood cells, known as T-cells, to attack and when and where.  T-cells then control other white blood cells that make antibodies. When the thymus gland no longer works efficiently, bacteria, viruses, and cancer cells are not attacked but are left free to attack the body themselves.  Remember chemotherapies and prescriptions drugs are known to slow and stop the functions of the thymus gland.  And when this occurs the onset of the above diseases are free to run their courses. 

The Thymus Thumper
The thymus is the mastermind of the immune system.  Due to a past abuse of  prescriptions drugs and money making individuals the thymus gland is under attack from all sorts of infectious diseases. May we suggest that the simple technique of thumping your thymus gland with your fist, be integrated into your daily exercise routine, before or after skin brushing, and throughout the day when you find it necessary or beneficial.  Here is the thumping technique.

Make a fist. With the flat of your fist, give yourself a firm double thump on the top of the chest, about an inch below the hollow of the throat. Don’t hit so hard that it hurts. Repeat 30 times to the rhythm of a heartbeat.

The Adrenal Glands


The adrenal glands are two little cap-shaped glands that sit on top of each kidney. They secrete a substance called adrenaline, which determines your level of immediate energy and endurance. The adrenals also regulate blood pressure; salt, protein, carbohydrate, mineral, and pigment metabolism and, with the parathyroids. calcium metabolism. The adrenal glands are extremely sensitive to sugar. Foods such as chocolate, cola, and coffee have an adverse effect on these sensitive glands. Why? Because constant use of caffeine and such stimulates over regularly stimulate the adrenal glands and gradually weaken them, ending in malfunction. The adrenals manufacture cortisone, which regulates calcium metabolism the way you assimilate and absorb calcium.

The painful joints of arthritics are often the result of massive deposits of calcium. Recognizing the role of cortisone in calcium assimilation, the medical profession often prescribes an animal derived course of cortisone. Though this relieves the pain temporarily, the long-term effects are often catastrophic. The secret is not to have calcium build up in the first place, but if it occurs, to treat it nutritionally, gradually decreasing dependency on painkillers and palliatives.

What happens when your adrenals are underactive or overactive? Underactive adrenal glands tend to produce low blood pressure, particularly in women. They also are now generally acknowledged as a prime factor in skin, respiratory (asthma), and digestive allergies. If not too far deteriorated, the adrenals respond swiftly to proper nutrition. Overactive adrenals tend to produce high blood pressure, more so in men. Doctors often prescribe a diuretic, but this overworks the delicate kidneys, eventually ending up in dysfunction. Moreover, the patient becomes totally dependent upon the drug, which as in so many instances addresses only the symptom, not the cause. Proper nutrition brings the adrenals swiftly back into line.

The Pancreas and Islets of Langerhans

The pancreas is about six inches long, weighs about three ounces, and is located in front of the spine, below the stomach. The pancreas produces enzymes that digest food and convert it into assimilable nutrients. The islets of Langerhans (which are part of the pancreas) produce insulin, which controls the balance of sugar in the body.

What happens when the pancreas and islets of Langerhans work improperly? When the pancreas cannot do its job, food is not properly digested and, in effect, you suffer from malnutrition no matter how much food you’re eating. Like most of the other glands, the pancreas is extremely sensitive to sugars and over-rich and over-refined foods of all sorts. A diseased pancreas and sluggish liver amount to a kind of malnutrition of the over-privileged. Given half a chance and depending upon age, the pancreas responds swiftly to good treatment.

If the pancreas produces too much insulin, the result is low blood sugar, or hypoglycemia. The insulin is burning the glucose out of the blood, not leaving enough in the blood for metabolic purposes. How would you know? You may experience dizziness, nausea, anxiety, a feeling of faintness, and in extreme cases, convulsions and coma. Since glucose is the primary food for the brain, as well as for all the other cells in the body, the nervous systems are particularly vulnerable once hypoglycemia sets in.

If the pancreas secretes too little insulin, the body cannot process carbohydrates into a usable form, resulting in diabetes. Symptoms are insatiable thirst, fatigue, weakness, and emaciation. If diabetic patients have not been taking large insulin doses over a long period of time, they will respond to nutrition therapy; otherwise, the damage is largely irreversible.

The Ovaries and the Testes
The ovaries and the testes are the reproductive glands. The ovaries produce the seed

(ovum) in women; the testes produce the sperm cells in men. The male hormone testosterone is responsible for the male sex-drive, and the continued efficient 

production of testosterone is effectively the male fountain of youth. In women, the reproductive glands not only control the physical reproductive system but also are intimately connected to emotional and psychological states. As with all other glands, the ovaries and testes are highly sensitive and react adversely to improper diet: In men the sperm count can drop dramatically. and in both sexes the sex drive is seriously slowed down.

A diet rich in vitamin E, best attained from whole grains, especially millet and brown rice, and also avocados, often gradually regenerates the reproductive system.

The Lymphatic System
Almost everyone is already very familiar with the blood vascular system and the approximately 6 pints of fluid material called it circulates around the body, called blood. The Lymphatic fluid system, on the other hand is mush less known.  It is, in fact over 3 1/2 times larger than the blood vascular system carrying approximately 22 pints of fluid.  And everywhere you find the blood vascular system you will also find the large removal fluid system with much smaller network of capillary beds called the lymphatic system. The Lymphatic System

The lymphatic system is referred to as the waste removal system but it has many more  very important functions other than waste removal. Being only one of its primary functions, the removal of unwanted materials and waste products usually occurs in the form of undigested protein, debris, and no longer needed cellular or tissue materials. 

The lymphatic system consists of a very complex network of much smaller capillary vessels that support and connect to the blood vascular system. In comparison the blood vascular and lymphatic systems work together much like the water and sewer systems found in your home.  The lymph fluid is a clear and odorless liquid sometimes seen oozing out of a cut, lacerations, or wounds.  And research has found that it is similar in composition to that of seawater. 

The lymphatic system is also a major transporter of food materials.  It receives nutrients from the blood vascular system and carrying them  into areas that the blood vascular system cannot reach. Also the lymphatic system is home of the white blood cells.  This makes the lymphatic system responsible for the body's immune and defense mechanisms against sickness, illness, disease and infection.

What happens when the lymphatic system doesn’t flow properly? When the body is overloaded and congested with unwanted debris and waste materials, it reacts just like any other overloaded system - it backs up.  And just like the sewer system in your home the unwanted fluids and materials overflow and spill over into areas where it is not suppose to be.  Large build ups of waste materials are them unable to pass through the normal sized lymph vessels and nodes.  Perhaps the most noticeable areas of the body where this back up occurs is in the joints.  Unwanted meat crystals known as "uric acid crystals" collect in the toes to create a condition knows as gouty arthritis.  Process sugar crystals also collect in the toenail regions of the body creating a condition knows as toenail fungus.  When these same lymphatic capillary vessels are clogged in the joints of the hands the condition is known as rheumatoid arthritis  When the lymphatic nodes become overloaded and clogged with toxic materials they swell and become painful, usually at or over a joint but also found within the armpits, ankles, groin, and throat. Anatomical Facts About The Colon
The colon (large intestine) is a circular muscular tube approximately 5-6 ft. in length and has an average diameter of 2 1/2 inches. The small intestine empties its contents of digestion (known as chyme) into the first portion of the colon known as the "Cecum". The colon is divided into three distinct sections that outline the borders of the abdomen region of the body. Its starting point is at the lower right side of the abdominal area where the small intestine’s empties into the cecum. The cecum is the first part of the "Ascending" colon. The ascending colon extends from the cecum up to the liver where it bends 90 degrees to the left and crosses the top portion of the abdominal area where it is known as the "Transverse" colon. At the top left portion of the abdominal area (at the spleen), it bends 90 degrees downward to create the "Descending" colon. It continues down the left side of the abdominal area to the pelvis where it becomes known as the "Sigmoid" region. The sigmoid colon empties into the "Rectum" where waste material (feces) is collected and eliminated through the anus. The main functions of the colon are the absorption of water and minerals, and the formation and elimination of feces.

The material of digestion is a substance called "Chyme". Chyme is moved along the intestinal tract by intestinal wall circular muscle contractions known as "Peristalsis". These circular muscles get their signals that produce peristaltic movement from nerve supplies found within the colon. However, when toxic materials are present they inhibit the nerve supplies and peristaltic actions slow down and stop.

Normal Digestive Times
The process of digestion (the flow of materials through the digestive tract) from the time food is ingestion into the mouth to the time defecation occurs at the anus normally requires between twelve and twenty-four hours in a properly functioning colon. Also there should be a defecation within thirty minutes following each meal in the properly functioning colon.

Many years ago when doctors were not so prevalent in our country, people used home remedies that were passed down through families. Most families could not afford a trip to the doctor each time they were sick. They would rest, fast and use common sense in curing their dis-ease. When the industrial age was coming into full swing the Rockefeller’s realized the amount of money that could be made from pharmaceuticals. It is amazing that we are willing to hand our lives and health over to a medical doctor because he has attended a school that has the title of "medical university or college" or because "my insurance pays for it". I give these doctors credit for accepting the challenge of pursuing that many years of college, but they are not going to school to instruct their patients on wellness. They are attending school to help with the disease care since this is what they are being taught by the school, there is very little preventative instruction currently being taught in the allopathic system. They are instructed as how to recognize disease, symptomatology and what drug to prescribe. Also, it is amazing that we are willing to imbibe in these prescription drugs that have contraindications and cause iatrogenic reactions. Granted there is a place for drugs and surgery, but it should be a last resort and not first on the list. It is shocking that more and more prescription pharmaceuticals are now becoming over the counter remedies. Yet the contraindications remain the same and people eagerly purchase and use these drugs because they are advertised in the media. It is no wonder we are seeing more and more iatrogenic disease in our society and the fear of not having adequate health insurance.

The one thing that still stands true from the beginning of time when man first came to this planet is – THE BODY HEALS ITSELF! That will always be and will never change due to technology, schools, doctors, practitioners, herbs or drugs discovered. Each body is set up to heal and rejuvenate itself. Therefore if the body can heal itself, it is our responsibility to create and maintain a friendly environment for that body. She even had a hysterectomy because she had met her deductible for the year, was having some problems with her reproductive system and she would be able to have a sick leave of six weeks. Her feeling was that she would not have to be at work for over a month and insurance would pay for all of it. When she returned to work, she soon found that the six-week leave did not help her with the negative feelings she was having about her job. She and another co-worker always made the comments that they never see me going to the doctor. They said, "you are never sick and you never go to the doctor, why? You should go because the health insurance here will pay for it." My response was, "I don’t have health insurance and I don’t need it. I believe that by being positive and happy I will be healthy, and I accept the responsibility for creating my own health and health care." The look on the face of the "health insurance addict" said it all. She realized that she was making herself sick and no matter how great an insurance coverage she had it was time for her to go someplace that would make her happy. She found a great job at the beach and now she very rarely goes to the doctor.

The above story shows the connection the body and mind has with one another. If we visualize ourselves sick or aging we will progress that way. If we see ourselves healthy, happy and young we will be drawn to that type of life. I have many clients come to my office because of concerns of cancer. The doctor has mentioned to them because they have had several family members die of cancer that they could be at risk. I know that doctors are doing this out of concern for their patients, but it plants a seed of negativity in them. I always tell my clients to visualize themselves as healthy and affirm that they will not contract or suffer with any disease or cancer. The key is to remain positive because negativity can manifest in the body as many ailments or diseases. Louise Hay’s book "Heal Your Body" is a great reference tool and has helped many people overcome the dis-ease they are having. This book will help you work with the mind and start mastering it instead of it being your master. Mastering the mind is one of the greatest tools you can ever have. Many a great man and women will tell you that when they started controlling their thoughts and thought actions they became very successful in their life, health and career. This book also covers the mental and spiritual connection and what role eating and breathing have in health and atrophy.

The connection of eating and spirituality is very foreign to the American public. In the land of plenty where there is a restaurant or grocery store just around the corner, we have built our social interactions around food. It is no wonder that the American people are eating their way to the grave. Here in America we are living to eat instead of eating to live, and our health and bodies are proof to this statement. Most of our social interactions are based around food, "let’s meet for lunch or we can go out to dinner and discuss the business proposal". Could it be that the reason we need outside input is because our food has lost the vibratory frequency that our spirit needs? Also, the eating of raw organic foods has helped many people achieve better health and developed an awareness and connection to the planet. Not only does it tune the individual into health, but also it tunes them spiritually as well. They realize that stress has a greater impact on their health than what they had originally imagined. The production of adrenaline by stressful situations is at such a high rate that it over works the endocrine system and causes fatigue. We American’s have the idea that you have to work long and hard to achieve success. Rest, relaxation, fun and joy all take a secondary position to work and there are some people that are bored when they are not under stress. More Americans are realizing that they need down time so that they can rest their minds. This can be in the form of daily exercise, meditation, yoga or just not having to think about anything. People using a form of stress release find that they perform better and are able to handle job, family and spiritual responsibilities much easier. One of the things that I have found that have helped many of my clients and their stress levels is the act of forgiveness. Unforgiveness has a huge impact on the health of the individual. I use "The Forgiveness Book" written by Dennis and Bekki Medsker. This booklet is a workbook that helps people work through unforgiveness and regain their health. After using this book many people report feeling that a large burden has been lifted from their body. It is amazing what we are willing to carry with us until we make the decision to release the dis-ease we are holding onto.

We make the choices for our health or disease by the actions and thoughts we incorporate in our life or health span. The wealth of information available to us through printed, visual, audio and especially the Internet is overwhelming. This is one of the reasons that Americans are now questioning why there are so much health problems in our country. People now want to make more informed decisions and are now deciding that they are wanting to take care of their health by exploring holistic health.  

Bathing
pH
pH (hydrogen ion power) is the symbol that related the hydrogen ion (H+) concentration or activity of a solution to that of a given standard solution.  Mathematically speaking the pH is approximately equal to the negative logarithm of the H+ concentration expressed in molarity (the # of moles of a solute per liter of solution).  pH values that range from 0 to 7 indicate an acid condition and pH values that range from 7 to 14 indicate an alkaline condition.  A pH value of 7 is considered to be neutral or the value of pure distilled water. A pH of 7 is also defined as the hydrogen ion (charged particle) or concentration of a pure water substance.  It is the degree of acidity or alkalinity of any solution, material, or body surface.  

Soap 
What is soap?  Soap is any compound of one or more fatty acids, or their equivalents, with an alkalizing (ion producing) agent, making them a detergent and having the ability to create a cleaning action on the surface, which they are place. Soaps are usually made of sodium or potassium salts of fatty acids, which produce through an action of an ion charged alkalizer such as caustic soda or pot ach on fats or oils. They are considered a wetting agent which brings water closer to the surface in which it is cleaning.  Water is considered the universal solvent as it will mix or blend with just about anything.  So by getting water closer to any surface it can provide a better quality of its cleaning action. 

Detergent
A detergent is a chemical agent that cleans or purifies.  A surface-active chemical, such as a soap that is capable of emulsifying dirt through charged particles or ion exchange.  It is the ionization of the particles in these substance that allow the cleaning of any surface through the removal of dirt and other debris.    

Emulsion
An Emulsion is an oily substance held in suspension with a water by means of  charged particles found in a gummy substance.  It is the charged particles that allow the emulsion to clean and remove dirt particles from the surface that they are place on.   Hence emulsification is a process where charged particles of a cleaning substance are placed in water to produce sudsing for washing or cleaning.  Soaps are an example of a substance that will emulsify.  

So soap is a charged particle material used as a wetting agent to mix, blind, and bond with dirt and toxic materials on the surface of the skin so that they can be removed by a rinsing off process with water. 

Magnets
This magnet fits over the copper water pipe line that comes into your bath tub.  We use one for both our hot and cold water lines.  

Magnetically treating the water as it enters the bath tub or shower makes it more of a wetting agent, which means much less of soap is needed or necessary. You will be able to tell a difference between just magnets or just soap in your bathing.  The magnets activates your water naturally through a confidential process, which changes the molecular structure of your water.  It forces the dirt to leave the skin because dire is positively charged and the water becomes negatively changed, thus creating a electronic release of dirt. 

There is no break down of your skin from harsh chemicals placed in soaps. If you used a bath tub hair trap or lint filter you will see that there is much less body materials entrapped there.  There is no need for the use of a liquid or powdered soap, which means that there is no residues that remain on your skin. 

When water moves or passes through a magnetic field the hydrogen ions and dissolved minerals in the  water will become charged.  This charge causes a temporary separation of the minerals from the molecular water cluster, resulting in improvement in taste.  The water will behave like it is naturally soft.  

Water from lakes, wells, or running streams are naturally charged by the earth's magnetic field of 0.5 gauss.
