Shock
Let’s first start off by discussing similar processes normally found in your automobile and then link them into the concepts that run and manage your body.
A Relationship Between Your Car And Your Body
The body’s energy needs are much like those of an automobile. That is to say, both need some amounts of carbon fuel as a source of internal combustion and a battery as a source of electrical energy. The car’s carbon fuel source is a liquid called gasoline where the body’s carbon fuel source is called food. The food can be either a liquid and/or in solid form.

The second fuel source, electrical energy, powers all the electrical needs of both. The battery, most generally a 12-volt direct current system and an alternator (which charges the battery) supply the car’s electrical needs. Orgone electrical energy, from the word organism, supplies the all the electrical energy needs for the body. Like the car battery the body’s electrical energy supply can become low and need charging. In the car the alternator charges the battery. In the body the skin is responsible for absorbing Orgone energy to charge the system. Whenever the car runs out of fuel or electrical energy it will shut off. When the body runs out of food or electrical energy, it will shut down, as well. Let’s consider the car first. Car’s batteries and/or alternators can go bad. It is a simple act to remove and replace either in a car. Like the car, the body’s batteries and charging systems can go bad, as well. Again, like the car, the body’s electrical energy system has a highly selective process. The most important systems, organs, tissues, and cells, get electrical energy first. These systems are called primary systems, also sometimes called vital life support systems. The body’s secondary and tertiary systems are classified by their functional role of importance.  Let’s take a look at the above three areas of automatic shut down.
Vital Life Support Systems
We need four basic essentials to life.  They are, in their order of importance:
1. Biological Electrical Energy (Orgone Energy) Primary Life
    Support
2. Air (Primary Life Support)
3. Water (Secondary Life Support)
4. Food (Tertiary Life Support)

The way our body’s automatic shock cycling shutdown system works is by selectively shutting down the least important systems first.  If the degree of shock is greater this mechanism continues to advance and shutdown secondary systems.  And the shock producing action is greater still this mechanism will advance to and selectively shutdown its primary life support systems.  Let’s get more into these three life support systems.

One of the fastest ways to learn and understand the cycling system of shock is through your own personal experiences.  You maybe able to recall or remember that in the minutes and hours that followed you may have experience a feeling of coldness, maybe some shivering, and a general overall weakness that required you to sit or lie down.  As this shock reaction continue on into its first few days you probably experienced a loss of appetite and the unable to have a bowl movement.

In the body the least important or tertiary life support systems get shut off first. Greater degrees of shock producing events will activate the body’s protective shock mechanism to advance up into its secondary life support systems and continue towards its primary life essentials until a life sustaining equilibrium is met.

When you stop to witness this amazing mechanism and later give thought to it, it is truly effective and efficient in its simplistic overall design.  As you continue your study of the body’s shock reaction mechanism eventually you will investigate this next set of concepts.  Let’s take a look.
Primary, Secondary, & Tertiary Biological Systems
What are the systems, organs, and tissues associated with our Primary, Secondary, and tertiary systems?  An easy way to discover which systems, organs, and tissues are involved with each is to ask yourself this question, “Which systems, organs, and tissues are required least in life support”?
Food – Least Important or The Tertiary Life Support
These systems, organs, and tissues will all be within the tertiary life support system.  So, which of the 4 vital life supports systems above is least important?  In other words, which one can you go the longest without?  Did you choose Food?  If you did you chose correctly. You can go up to 40-days without food.  So, what systems, organs, and tissues are involved with food?  Did you choose the alimentary canal and the digestive system?  If you did you chose correctly. Hence, these systems, organs and tissues get shutdown first in any degree of shock reaction.  Colon stasis, then always follows any level of emotional or physical shock.
Water – The Secondary Life Support Essential
You can go approximately 8 to 10-days without water.  Hence all of the water systems, organs, and tissues will automatically shutdown following all of the tertiary life support systems.  What are the systems, organs, and tissues involved in secondary life support?  Did you think to include the urinary system, bladder, and kidneys, as well as the lymphatic system and the endocrine system?  Do you remember the endocrine system’s 8-organs?  They are:
1. Pineal gland
2. Pituitary gland
3. Parathyroid gland
4. Thymus gland
5. Adrenal glands
6. Pancreas
7. Ovaries (female)
8. Testes (male)
9. Thyroid gland

Also remember that the lymphatic system is a 24-pint water system and is 4 times larger than the blood vascular system. How are you doing?  Are you starting to get the overall picture of how shock works?  Let’s take a look at the primary life support systems.
Electricity, Air, Water, & Food
Electricity & Air Are Our Body’s Primary Life Support Systems.  So ask yourself this question, “What are the systems, organs, and tissues necessary to sustain vital life support?”  Did you think to include the heart and lungs and the skin?  The lungs are obvious. The 5-lobes of the lungs supply the air to the body.  The blood is also obvious as it is the primary life supporting fluid of the body.  The skin is, however, a little more difficult as more scholars do not see or understand that the skin is the solar panel that provides the body with electromagnetic energy.  Scholars limit their thinking by only seeing food as a providing source of electrical energy.  So, how is it when the body is places in a grounded and shielded room it dies within minutes?  The answer here is that a grounded and shielded room cuts off all forms and sources of electromagnetic electricity.  And like your automobile, you cannot run it either when you turn or shut-off its electrical supply.
Tertiary Life Support Systems Get Shut Down First
So, the automatic life saving system known as the shock mechanism first starts off selectively turning down and/or shutting off the body’s tertiary life support systems, which are its food processing systems including the desire to eat, digestive track and colon.  Now this may not seem important but the very first step in the healing process are removal of waste materials and cellular debrisment.  Without this step the individual will experience much longer recover and healing times.  Colon shut down happens even with the smallest degrees of shock.  Re-instatement of the normal flow mechanism of the colon is very important if the activating the body’s healing processes is desired.
Secondary Life Support Systems Get Shut Down Second
And then, if necessary this mechanism will continue and starts to shut down the body’s secondary life support systems or its water systems.  Remember management of water conservation is a secondary life support process.  If you quicken your thinking to the Lymphatic system you’ll be in the body’s water management system.
Primary Life Support Systems Are Shut Down Last
And the shock mechanism senses the need to continue it starts to shutdown the primary life support systems in a selective way.  First it has listed and arranged all primary life support systems in their order of importance in supporting life.  Secondly it has prioritized them in a selective sequence of shutdown from least important to most important. I hope this mechanism is starting to make since to you. Let’s continue.

When you get the opportunity to witness it or experience it you will understand this process a lot better.  You should know that most people have already experience some form of a shock reaction to some degree.  However, your personal experience of a shock reaction should now allow you to recall its process as it’s automatic mechanism started shutting down these systems within your body. So remember that with every degree of physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual trauma there will be an equal or equivalent degree of the body’s shock mechanism to off life supporting systems in a selective process. The stronger the shock reaction the more the tertiary and secondary systems get shut down. Very strong shocks can cause the body to completely shut down, leaving only the most important of vital life support systems operational. The highest degree of body counter shock automatic shut down is called a coma. But it is the lower grades of shock, which, over a long time, cause the greatest body damage.  If the shock mechanism gets stuck somewhere in its automatic process the body begins a slow and insidious road into sickness and disease.  When this happens the body is said to be in a state of “Prolonged Shock” sometime called “Post Traumatic Shock Syndrome.”  Now, this is where it really gets interesting in the management of shock.  Therapeutical re-instatement of the body’s tertiary and secondary life support systems is highly effective.  The tertiary systems can be re-instated through the avenues strict management of food (solid & liquid) intake and a series of colon hydrotherapy treatments.  The secondary systems can be assisted in their re-instatements by an ion footbath known as the Bio-cleanse process.
Long Term Effects Of Un-Cycled Shock
Small amounts or degrees of locked-in shock are slowly accumulated and therefore eventually cause a clogging-up of unwanted cellular debris and materials in the body’s tertiary and secondary systems. Long term sickness, illness, and disease onset are the results. You will see outward physical appearances of accelerated aging, repetitive sicknesses, and slow on setting and unremitting disease processes.  Natural and Wholistic methods often times can completely stopped or reversed this unwanted un-cycled accumulation of the shock mechanism. I have seen this repeatedly in my practice. I have seen injuries heal in fractions of the normal time told to you by the medical profession. As an example, a forearm fracture of the radial or ulna or both normally requires four to six months to heal. Routinely, with therapies that assist the body’s healing processes, we routinely allow the patient’s body to heal these fractures in six to ten days. The follow-up clinical and x-ray examinations clearly show a better grade of healing with little to no scar tissue formation. But for now, let’s continue discussing Shock’s primary, secondary, and tertiary systems, and how the body selectively directs them.

So, it should not be surprising now to learn that electrical energy and air are primary life support substances. Water is the secondary substance. And the food processing systems, organs, and tissues are the body’s tertiary systems for life supportive functions.  Let’s start to get deeper into these three systems.

The body can live without food for over forty-day. The body can live without water for several days. But the body can only live for only minutes without air or electrical energy. So next, let’s take a closer look at what shock is.
What Is Shock?
The shock reaction is one of many built-in automatic body survival protective mechanisms or modes and it always follows any mental or physical traumatic insult. The degree, grade, or severity of the shock reaction is directly proportional to that of the degree, grade, or severity of traumatic insult. Traumatic shock is one of over thirty different types that an individual may encounter. Also, there can several types coexisting together complicating the degree of total overall shock.

Other survival protective systems that are activated in the automatic shock protective mechanism include:
1. Blood clotting
2. Blood vessel & capillary constriction shutting down blood
    flow and blood loss
3. Muscle spasms to splint and immobilize area
4. Antalgic  protective posture and walking gait
5. Apprehensive reactions
6. Normal physiological inflammatory temperature up to
    102.5°
7. Loss Of Appetite and/or Fasting

With every degree of shock whether it is spiritual, mental, physical, or emotional there will be an equal or equivalent degree of the body’s reactive shock protection mechanism.  The stronger the shock reaction the greater the probability that the secondary and primary systems will get shutdown, as well.  A very strong shock reaction can cause the body to completely shutdown, leaving only the most important of the vital life support systems, organs, and tissues operational.  In the highest degree of body’s shock protective reactions the body’s selective processes automatically shuts down all body functions and places the individual in a suspended unconscious state called a coma.  But it is the repetitive lower grades or degrees of shock which, occur over along period of time, cause the greatest body damage and degeneration.

I have theorized that the shock inducing insult produces within the body an interruption or small loss in the body’s electrical energy system.  And, it is this interruption that triggers the body’s shock reaction and starts the chain reaction of protective mechanisms.

Normally, the shock reaction will completely cycle through its mechanism of “Flight” and “Flight” and then shut its self down, which allows the body to come out of its protective state and return back into its normal mode of operation.

One of shock’s major problems seen to be when its mechanism fails to completely cycle through its protective state therefore not allowing the body to return back to its normal mode of operation.  Another very interesting observable phenomena about shock is that these un-cycled mechanisms seem to accumulate producing unwanted conditions of biological homeostasis. In other words, slow onsets of illness, sickness, and disease processes.  What I have witnessed is that this accumulation of un-cycled shock mechanisms will first begin to slowly shut down the tertiary systems.  Once it shuts down most of the tertiary it begins to start shutting down the secondary body systems.  And as these tertiary and secondary systems begin to be shut down illness, sickness, and disease process are the results.

Any of many overstressing, short or long term, and adverse stimulations can activate the mechanism of shock.  When it is activated it follows an automatic sequential step-by-step process.  Also it can get locked or trapped in of its sequential steps and remain.   This condition is called “Post Shock Syndrome”.   Post shock syndrome is responsible for many system shut downs or failures ranging from partial or complete.  Remember the digestive track, including the small and large intestines, is considered a tertiary system and suffers right along with all the other involved systems.

The spine is the electrical highway of the body. When trauma happens to the spine it affects the flow of electrical energy to all areas of the body.

With every degree of physical or emotional shock there will be an equal or equivalent degree of a body counter shock reaction and electrical shut down. The stronger the shock reaction the greater the probability that the secondary and tertiary systems will get shut down.

A very strong shock reaction can cause the body to completely shut down, leaving only the most important of vital life support systems, organs and tissues operational. In the highest degree of body counter shock reactions the body’s selective energy distribution process automatically shuts down all body functions and places itself in a suspended unconscious state called a coma.

It is the repetitive lower grades or degrees of shock that cause the greatest body damage over a long period of time. As the loss of electrical energy accumulates, the shock mechanism begins shutting down the tertiary systems and then the secondary systems. As these systems stop functioning we see the onset of illness and disease.
The digestive tract is considered a tertiary system and is one of the first systems to shut down under the shock mechanism. It can get locked into an automatic sequential shut down process and is a condition called “Post Shock Syndrome” (PSS).

During PSS the colon of a person with a spinal cord injury becomes lazy from the trauma, but also from all medications used to stabilize the patient after the accident. Since nerve function is compromised it allows medication to have a more detrimental effect on these people. Since the body has shut down all secondary and tertiary functions the body allows the toxins from the medication to become trapped in the small intestine and colon (in the form of mucoid plaque) and then into the tissues (cellulitis). These clients have received large amounts of pain medication, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs, which bring the colon to a halt.
Your Colon & Digestive Track Always Gets Shut Down
I would like to precede this section with some important general background information about the body’s healing process. The body's healing process has two fundamental steps. Step one is tissue debrisment and the elimination of all toxic materials. And step second, the body's tissue repair and regeneration process, starts up after the completion of step one.

If step one (debrisment & toxin elimination) is slowed down or does not happen at all, the tissue repair and regeneration process is impaired. What is seen outwardly in the individual is a prolonged healing process and the onset of illness, sickness, and/or the disease process.  So in other words, the healing process cannot get started until the debrisment and toxic elimination processes are completed or, at lease well under way.  Keep this fact in the front of your mind as you read on.

No matter what type of shock or what degree, the body's automatic programmed protective mechanism shifts the blood to vital primary life support systems only and shuts down all secondary, tertiary, and non-vital life support systems. In all cases of shock the colon always get shut down as it is not a vital life support system.  It is considered a tertiary system and that is why it gets shut down during any state of shock.

This may, at first glance, not seen like a big problem, but it is.  Think, for a moment, about your bike's engine.  The first limiting factor when considering engine performance is how fast the exhaust gases are removed.  The faster they are removed the faster new fuel can come in and ignite.  And the slower the removal of the exhaust gases the slower new material can come in.  That is why a tuned exhaust pipe is so very important.  And for the same reasons a tuned colon allows the healing process to be a lot faster.  And, by the same token, a sluggish colon greatly slows down the healing process.  So even though the normal colon flow is not necessary for vital life support it is extremely necessary when you are looking for normal or faster rates of healing.  When the colon's gets shutdown it becomes inflamed.  This condition is called colonitis or colitis and its presence can be seen on x-rays.  In the cases of Post Traumatic Shock Syndrome (PTSS) it can be seen on s-rays even years later following that causative trauma.  And by that time can have produced a lot of dis-ease conditions.  When there are broken bones, swelling or edema, and pain to consider colon therapy is a necessary treatment protocol.  For more information on colon therapy please read our book on “Understanding The Need For Colon Hydrotherapy”.
Medical Definition Of Shock
Medically, physical shock is the failure of the cardiovascular system to provide sufficient blood circulation to every part of the body. Mentally, shock is a sudden disturbance of mental equilibrium. Neurological, shock is a vasodilatation, which can be produced by cerebral trauma or hemorrhage, spinal cord injury, deep general or spinal anesthesia, or toxic central nervous system depression.  Traumatic shock can involve one or more the above three.  As you can see all the definitions above are observations and measurements of only some smaller viewpoint of the overall picture of the body’s protective mechanism called shock.
Delayed Shock Syndrome (aka) Un-Cycled Shock
Shock can be delayed for a considerable time after the insult or injury is received. The time delay can vary from minutes to hours, days, months, and even into years in some cases, following the provoking injury. But generally speaking, the appearance of delayed shock syndrome can be observed one to two hours following the insult.

Shock has a two-part reaction associated with traumatic insult. The first is called “Flight”. The second is called “Flight”.  The “Fight-Flight” reaction refers to the automatic protective survival mechanism.  When this mechanism is activated those parts of the body it touches into are required to follow its program.  And usually this is the case but every once in a while the Flight-Flight mechanism mal-functions and its cycle does not complete itself.  Therefore those systems it touched into do not return to their normal operating modes, either.  But, before we more into this let’s go over both the Fight and Flight programs.
Programs With The Fight & Flight Mechanisms
The Fight mode is to defend and protect the body against danger for all of its life qualities. The Flight mode is the physiological resting and inactive mode which allows the body to place all available energy into making repairs necessary to save the involved site or itself.

In order to eliminate or place the shock reaction behind the individual, the shock mechanism must be allowed to cycle through both of its programmed parts. If not, the body can stay locked in one part or the other until completion of that cycle is accomplished. Shock can occur and stay localized to the injured tissue or it can go systemic and affect the entire body. As we have stated above if the shock cycle stays locked in to one part or the other you will see, with time, advanced degeneration occurring to these affected areas.

It has been my personal experience to witness that Holistic and natural methods of treatment routinely work the best the helping the body best recover from the unwanted un-cycled shock reactions.  And once this broken loop in the shock’s protective is allowed to completely cycle through its program the normal healing mechanism and its processes are reinstated and the road to recovery starts.

Acute & Chronic Shock Signs & Symptoms
Next, let’s take a look at and compare the outward symptoms and signs, felt and/or observed, when the shock protective program is activated in both the acute and chronic Un-cycled forms of shock.
Acute Shock
In acute shock the patient’s symptoms and the signs observed by the on-looker will be a lot more intense and outwardly noticeable compared to those of chronic un-cycled shock.  Also be aware that acute shock can vary in its outward degree of intensity ranging from mild, moderate, severe, to very severe.  Know that this intensity will also dictate the immediate course of action you will take.

Acute Shock Symptoms (Subjective = what the affected individual feels)
1. Weakness (energy shift to shock protective mechanism)
2. Feeling tired and sleepy
3. Dizziness (decrease blood flow to the head)
4. A feeling of impending doom (awareness of situation)
5. Nausea (detoxification elimination reaction)
6. Thirst (dry mouth aka cotton mouth)
7. Coolness (wet skin -clammy feeling)

Acute Shock Signs (Objective – what the observer sees or finds)
1. Skin color appears pale, feels moist & cook skin; &
    possible profuse sweating present
2. Muscles shaking and/or trembling
3. Weak, faintish, unable to walk & sometimes speak
4. Dilated pupils & eyes lack their usual luster
5. Vomiting (detoxification & elimination process)
6. Shallow & rapid chest breathing
7. Rapid and weak pulse
8. Marked drop in blood pressure (to 90/60 or lower).
Pulse pressure drops below standard of 40 to 20 or lower
9. Inability to think clearly or answer simply direct questions

Chronic Un-Cycled Shock
Next let’s take a look at the outward symptoms and signs present in cases of chronic un-cycled shock.  Now remember in chronic shock the intensity will always be low-grade (mild or below).  An unprocessed or in-completed shock cycle can produce any one of more of the following low-grade symptoms and signs.

Chronic Un-Cycled Shock Symptoms (Subjective - what the affected individual feels)
  1. Feel weak & generally tired all over all the time
  2. Sleeps long hours & wakes up still tired
  3. Has no energy to do normal daily or night activities
  4. Mental depression sometimes feeling impending doom
  5. Light headed or dizziness – feelings of mild alcohol
      intoxication
  6. Nausea – especially a chronic low grade sensation
  7. Thirsty – drinks more water than necessary
  8. Coolness or clammy skin (wet skin -clammy feeling)
  9. Minor bruises & injuries requires a long time to heal

Chronic Un-Cycled Shock Objective Signs (what the observer see of finds)
  1. Pale, moist, and warm skin
  2. Slowed down capillary recover rates in hands & feet
  3. Cold hands and/or feet
  4. Get cold easily may require a blanket to stay warm
  5. Walking posture is less erect
  6. Weak, faintish, unable to walk
  7. Low-grade appetite or an over-eating appetite
  8. Eyes lack their normal luster
Managing Shock
Next let’s learn a very clever maneuver that can over-ride the shock program allowing the affected individual to momentarily regain their normal control.  This maneuver can allow the affected individual or the assisting person to move or transport the shock victim to a more suitable place for management and treatment.  You can perform this maneuver several times to keep the shock victim out of the state of the shock protective mechanism.  I have found that in mild and moderate degrees of shock that you may have to perform this technique 1 to 3 times.  But in severe and very severe degrees of shock I have found that you will only have minutes to move of position the victim before the dominance of their shock reaction fully takes over.  Remember in more advanced intensities of shock immediately plan and look for a suitable place to treat or manage this condition until you can transport him or her to an appropriate hospital.

Diagram #1
Counter Shock Maneuver
Your may need to extending the “Fight” mode of the shock cycle.  Extending the “Flight” mode allows the individual to stay awake and transport himself or herself to an area where proper treatment for the insult or injury can be administered.

Finger Application
This finger application method is performed by placing your index finger under the individual's nose and applying an upward and backward pressure during nasal inspiration only (see diagram #1 above). This maneuver may have to be performed several times to sustain a lasting effect in combating shock. In some cases this maneuver has only a temporary effect allowing only a few minutes to do what must be accomplished before sleep (Flight) subdues the individual. In advanced cases of shock this maneuver may have little to no effect at all.  The arrow at the nose on the diagram #1 indicates the direction of applied finger pressure applied by the individual or an assist during the affected individual’s breathe in (diagram #1 above).

Hot Packs To The Epigastic Region (Solar Plexus)
In a treatment room, lie the patient down, elevate his or her lower extremities or elevate the bed at the foot post by placing 2 pieces of 2" x 4" lumber or books under them. Cover the tarsal of the patient with a blanket or jacket. And place a moist hot pack, or a hot water bottle, on the upper stomach region (solar plexus) (Epigastric center).  You can also place hot packs around the neck and on the inner sides of both upper legs in the lower extremities.  This action helps in redirection or shift blood flood to the periphery.

Treatment of shock takes priority over all other emergency care measures except correction of breathing problems, re-establishment of circulation and control of profuse bleeding. Proper treatment involves caring for the "Whole" person, not just one or two of the disorders. The steps to be taken in caring for a person in traumatic shock are as follows:

Traumatically Induced Shock Protocol
1. Assure adequate breathing (make sure the airway is
    open)
2. Control bleeding (if present) Direct pressure or tourniquet
3. Administer oxygen (if applicable)
4. Elevate the lower extremities
5. Splint fractured area if applicable
6. Avoid rough handling
7. Maintain body heat (prevent body heat loss) blanket / hot
    pack
8. Keep the individual lying down
9. Give nothing by mouth (if applicable)

Anaphylactic Shock (also known as) Allergic Shock Reaction
This type of shock is discussed separately because it is a condition that must be regarded as life threatening. I personally this type of shock as an automatic out of control over reactive shock mechanism.  Anaphylactic shock (anaphylactic reaction) occurs when an individual comes in contact with something to which he or she is extremely allergic too and the body over reacts. The allergic reaction causes violent reactions in a sensitized individual and include:
1. Insect stings (bees, ants or fire ants, wasps, yellow
    jackets, hornets)
2. Skin irritants (Poison Ivy, Poison Oak, Poison Sumac,
    etc.)
3. Ingested substances (drugs, bad foods, fish, etc.)
4. Inhaled substances (pollens, dust, etc.)
5. Injected substances (antitoxins, drugs, etc.)

Outward Symptoms
1. Itching and burning skin, especially about the face & chest
2. Painful constriction of the chest with difficulty in breathing
3. Dizziness
4. Restlessness
5. Nausea

Outward Signs
1. Hives over a large area of the body or even generalized
    edema
2. Swelling at the local site and also can be found in the face
    and tongue
3. Cyanosis visible at the lips
4. A weak or imperceptible pulse
5. Vomiting
Water Dehydration Shock (also known as)
1. Sun Stroke
2. Heat Stroke
3. Heat Exhaustion
Sun Stroke is the name of a condition that develops when a person fails to sweat in response to increasing temperatures, either from within his or her body or from the sun.  In my opinion a more correct name for this condition is “Dehydration Shock”.  Did you know that by the time you get thirsty you are already in an active state of dehydration?  This form of shock more commonly occurs in athletes and laborers who become dehydrated while being active while outside in the sun and their body does not have the water necessary to cool the its self.  Without water to manage and cool itself, the body's temperature controlling mechanism is unable to regulate body temperature.  Hence sunstroke is a shock reaction that shuts the body down due to an internal temperature overheat condition and lack of water.  Obviously this is a secondary life support system as it involved water.  Body temperatures during heat stroke can elevate to 105° F or higher and, if unattended the reaction can produce irreversible tissue damage, coma, and death if not corrected in time.  The body tissue most often times affected with permanent damage is the central nervous system.

So What Is Sun Stroke?
Sunstroke is a body shock reaction due to an advanced state of dehydration. Let’s take a look at its signs and symptoms

Sun Stroke Signs & Symptoms
1. Skin - hot, pale white, dry, hot, and flushed
2. Eyes - dilated pupils
3. Fatigued, faintest, and loss of consciousness
4. Pulse - normal pulse pressure but fast initially, becoming
weak and rapid as the condition advances.
5. Breathing - deep breathing initially followed by shallow
    breathing as the condition advances
6. Muscles - initially you will see muscle cramping followed
by twitching as it advances. Eventually it will go into a
state of convulsion as the condition advances.
Some more generalized outward physical signs and symptoms of dehydration are:
  1. Headaches
  2. Achy joints
  3. Fatigue - exhaustion
  4. Muscle cramping (limb and abdominal)
  5. Slight fever
  6. Decreased skin Turgor

When the "Skin" remains pinched and stretched after you release it (Turgor) is an indication of Dehydration.

  7. Dry mouth and mucous membranes,
  8. Tachycardia (a fast beating heart)
  9. Muscle twitching
10. Seizers
11. Nausea
12. Vomiting
13. Urination
      A. Early signs = darken urine color and low volume
      B. Dehydration signs = Dark in color and only able to
secret a small amount of urine (Oliguria)

Other problems that are directly related Dehydration & Dehydration Shock
1. Fatigue
2. Constipation - Enemas are a minimum recommended but
colon therapy is a better choice.  The colon will hydrate
the body 4 times faster that mouth & stomach
3. Joints all over – achy, stiff, & sore
4. Muscles - stiff and tight (not flexible)

Emergency Care For Sun Stroke (aka) Dehydration Shock
Treat All Sun Stroke as a true immediate emergency
1. Immediate ER Care (Primary Objective). To immediately
cool the outside of the body and re-hydrate the body
     internally with water.
2. Sit or lie the individual down in a shaded area or inside an
    air-conditioned building.
3. If available place a fan on the individual

Emergency Actions To Take For Sun Stroke
1. More the individual to the "Cooling Area", sit or lie the
him or her down and begin cooling them.
2. Give cold water to drink along with cellular salts (lemon
    water, potassium glutamate, etc)
3. Place in front of a fan
4. Take water soaked cold towels from the cooler and place
around the neck shoulders, the back, and the stomach.  If
you have a transportable bathtub you can fill it with cold
water and immerge the individual in it.
5. Place cold packs on the stomach at the solar plexus
6. The RICES-S Rule Management System
This general treatment management system can be applied to Shock
or any traumatic insult. Follow the RICES-S Rule.  Each letter
stands for an action to be taken.  These actions are:
     1. R = Rest - Place the individual a state of physiological
                rest (lying or sitting)
     2. I = Ice (apply cold wet towels to all cooling sites to
                reduce body temperature.
     3. I = Immobilization (movement or motion will worsen
                an existing injury)
     4. C = Compression (use a support wrap or elastic ace
                bandage)
     5. E = Elevation (elevate feet and legs allowing gravity to
minimize blood flow to this area.
     6. S = Keep Warm - treat for body’s shifts in electrical
                energy caused by the shock
S = Supports - Correctly fit a support product such as
                splint, crutches, etc.
7. If the individual seems like he or she is not responding to this immediate transport the individual to the hospital.

Emergency Care For Different Types Of Shock
1. Anaphylactic Shock ER Care
Anaphylactic shock is a true emergency situation because it requires (in most cases) injection of medication to combat the allergic reaction. Initial emergency care efforts should be direct towards life support.
1. Transport the patient to a hospital immediately. Notify the
facility by phone or radio while in route. If the information
is available, tell the hospital personnel the substance that
caused the reaction and the means of contact (sting,
    inhalation, ingested or injected).
2. Provide life support measures as required, including
    airway maintenance, pulmonary and cardiopulmonary
resuscitation. Administer oxygen and treat for shock.

2. Bites & Stings To The Skin

Shock can be caused by animal bites, insect bites, and Bee stings bite.  And in some cases this type of shock reaction can advance immediately into the unstable and over reactive anaphylactic shock mechanism.  If you witness this type of insult and reaction by the individual remember you will not have a lot of time to take a successful controlling action.

Self-Help Remedies For Bites & Stings To The Skin
1. After Bite (a mild ammonia base)
Animal bites, insect bites, bee stings can be immediately and successfully managed with a produce called "After Bite" or with any "Ammonia Kitchen Solution". Animal bites, snakes bites, insect bites and bee stings inject a mild protein acid, which can be neutralized by the application of a mild alkaline solution, such as ammonia. Ammonia can be found in most cleaning agents such as window cleaners but the best is the pencil tube over the counter (OTC) product called "After Bite". In my opinion After Bite performs the best of all the other products on the market place.  After Bite neutralizes the bite or sting and eliminates the itching. After Bite can be purchased in most local drug stores. I have found it most helpful to have it placed in several locations around raci41 vehicle and home. Another mild alkaline solution is alcohol and it can be found in pencil tube applicator as well, but it does not work as quick or is as good as ammonia.

2. Ceramic Magnets
N-1 and N-2 ceramic magnets work very well on insect bites or bee stings. Use the North polar surface against the skin where the bite is located.

3. Plant Poisons To The Skin
Skin irritants such as plant poisons can and do produce shock reactions in some individuals.  Some plants have a built in protective mechanism that sprays a mild acidic protein mist at that which would threaten it.  Many individuals are not affected at all by this poisonous spray but some individuals are highly allergic to it.  These poisonous plants include:

     Poison Ivey
     Poison Oak
     Poison Sumac

The plant’s mild acid protein poison is part of the plant’s protective mechanism.  The plant sprays its poison at the intended victims in the form of a mist.  This mist comes in contact with your skin surface.  Next, the mild poisonous mist produces chemical reaction on your skin surface.  Then, the chemical reaction begins to erode and irritate your skin.  Then your body responses back with an inflammatory reaction causing the area to itch.  And as you scratch the area that itches the condition get worse.  So basically what is going on is that the plant’s mist is a contact protein poison that require a little time to create the condition by eroding enough tissue to produces a noticeable itching inflammatory response.

Their mild acid protein solution can be quickly neutralized by the application of a mild alkaline solution such asbleach.  Bleach is the best performing alkaline solution that I have found.  Let’s look at some immediate self-help remedies.

Self-Help Remedies For Plant Poisons To The Skin
1. Chlorine Bleach Bath
Bathing and soaking in a bathtub with about 1/2 cup of chlorine bleach added will immediately neutralize the poison plant's chemical reaction all over your body. The mild alkaline bleach neutralizes the mild protein acid and the resultant is water and salt.  Sometimes you may have to take a second bath within 12 to 24-hours to completely neutralize the total overall acid chemical reaction.

While in the bathtub make sure you have good ventilation as the chlorine bleach puts out a mild chlorine gas that can be toxic to your lungs.

2. Bleach Applied Directly On The Affected Areas
If it is a localized area you can put some bleach on your finger and apply it directly to the involved area and let sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off with water.  Let dry or dab with a towel. If it still itches or it begins to itch again repeat the application and water rinsing procedure.

3. Baking Soda - Epsom Salt Bath
Soaking in a bathtub solution of baking soda and Epsom salts works better than just baking soda alone.  The combination of both baking soda and Epsom helps to neutralize the plant's mild protein acid reaction on your skin.

Dosages For Baking Soda - Epsom Salt
I use 1 cups of each in the bathtub.  You should know that although it is an effective method for the plant poisons it is not as fast acting as the chlorine bleach bath because it takes a little longer to neutralize the plant's skin irritating mild protein acid.

4. OTC (over the counter) plant poison remedies found in most drug or grocery stores include:
1. Bleach
2. Hydrocortisone Cream 1%
3. Benadryl (pills and/or cream)
4. Hospital Hydrocortisone Shot
The Tertiary & Secondary Systems
The most important tertiary and secondary systems are the digestive system and lymphatic system respectfully.  The digestive system starts at the mouth and ends and the anus and its primary function is to digest and process food.  Now remember that this system automatically shuts-down everytime there is a shock reaction.  So, let’s first discuss how a normal digestive track works.
Normal Digestive Track
The normal stool flow rate through the digestive system is one stool movement within a 30-minute time period following any meal.  Also there is stool movement that routinely occur within the first 5-minutes upon rising in the morning.  When the colon flow rate less than this normal stool flow rate the individual will experience the slow onsets of many different types of illness, sickness, and disease processes. There are a few reasons why this rate could be less than normal.

1. There is an active shock mechanism going on
2. Poor eating and dietary habits
3. Non-regimented or routine eating habits
So, if you colon elimination rate is less than one stool movement per 30-minutes following any meal we strongly suggest the you also seek out the services of a colon hydrotherapist.
The Lymphatic System
The lymphatic system manages all of the water within the body. This system is approximately 4 times larger (24-pints) than that of the blood vascular system (6-pints).  Another very interesting feature about the lymphatic system is that its capillary beds are less than haft the size of those of the smallest capillary beds of the blood vascular system.  The lymphatic system has many functions besides the management of the body's water. One of its functions is to collect all of the debris from where ever it finds it in the body and put it into the proper elimination channels, primarily the colon. This process include the removal of body waste materials, debrisment of most parts of the body, and whole body immunity.  In short it is a collecting and removal water dispersing system. And like all dispersing systems the sediment collected will fall and collect into the lowest levels of the body.  In this case it is the feet.  The calf muscles then pump the lymphatic fluids back up and into the intestines and kidney where it is cleaned and sent back out.  Now remember the lymphatic system baths the entire body with its fluid including all of the body's joints, muscles, skin, and other vital important tissues.  So, if you are suffering from achy, painful, tender, or sore joints and muscles you most probably have an underlying lymphatic system problem.

Another point about lymphatic system shut-down.  You have learned that from above that there are three reasons affecting the digestive track especially the large intestines.  They are:
1. There is an active shock mechanism going on
2. Poor eating and dietary habits
3. Non-regimented or routine eating habits

These same three things also affect the lymphatic system.  But at this time I would like to focus specifically on poor eating and dietary habits.  Let’s look at eating raw and prepared raw food to cooked foods.  What I mean by prepared raw foods is that they were prepared at room temperatures without the use of a heated or elevated preparing temperature process (uncooked).

Remember from above that the lymphatic system has vascular capillary beds half the size of the smallest blood vascular capillary beds. Now remember that your body, how it works, and functions was designed and created by God.  So the questions are, “How did he plan for it to work?  Should we eat raw and prepared raw foods or should we eat cooked foods?”

If this is the case may we suggest you consider having an Bio-cleansing ionic footbath detoxification treatment.  And for long term changes start learning and practicing dieting with raw and living food and watch and experience the improving changes within your body.  Let’s continue.

When the lymphatic system is properly working the collected sedimentation in the feet region will be pumped back up and into the large intestines and kidney through its normal debrisment channels where the lymphatic fluid is cleaned and sent back out into the body.  It is the calf muscles in your legs that produce the sump-like pumping action that causes this sediment of debris materials to flow from your feet back up and into the colon and kidneys.

Active sweating is another pumping mechanism for the lymphatic system that moves water and debris out through the skin. During the time periods of active sweating approximately 95% of the body’s elimination are processed through the skin. Hence, one of the functions of the skin is a very large elimination organ for unwanted tissues and body debrisment.  It should not be surprising that this elimination process is known as active sweating cellular debrisment.  How about those who are less active?  Let's take a look.

Generally speaking the older you get the less active you become. In non-active sweating conditions or in those individuals who seldom exercise the intestines are responsible for approximately 75% of the body’s debrisment.  And in aging individuals two common events start to happen:
1.  They become less active and exercise less
2.  The flow of materials though the colon slows down greatly.

Remember that any un-cycles shock mechanism will rob you of energy that could have been used to exercise.  The solution of course, to the first item above is to plan out and do an exercising program that is easily done on a weekly basis.

The solution for the second item above is a little more involved but I believe it to be far more important. The digestive track, especially the large intestines, is the body’s primary solid material elimination process.  When it slows down sickness onsets.  Allowing the body to return its solid material flow rate through the colon back to a stool movement within 30-minutes following any meal allows the reinstatement of the body’s normal health program.  Hence, unwanted tissue elimination and debrisment are the primary and initial first steps to a health body.  Remember that any form of shock, no matter how small shuts the colon down.
The Primary Systems
The body’s two major primary life support systems are the lungs and heart. Keep the air flowing in and out of the lungs is absolute necessity for maintaining life.  And, by the same token, maintaining blood flow through the heart is absolute necessity for maintaining life.  Taking a class in the basic life support methodologies where you learn rescue breathing and CPR first aid are excellent ideas.  For more information on these procedures contact your National Safety Council or your local Red Cross as they routinely teach classes on these topics on a regular bases.
Being Prepared
If you know you are allergic to certain substances carry the antidotes with you and let others with you keep it in case you are unable to get to it. Prepared or not, anaphylactic shock needs immediate care. A very effective successfully rule to guide you through a step-by-step procedure to treat all forms of shock is the "RICES-S Rule".  As listed and detailed above each letter of the rule stands for an action or actions you must immediately perform to successfully manage the insult or injury. Remember that the management of shock is also included in this rule.
Prevention Vs Correction
The wise prevention policy of 20-20 Foresight and being prepared is always a far better and less painful policy than the harder lesson in life to learn known as 20-20 Hindsight.

Always consult a doctor if the condition, pain, and/or swelling continue.  Also be wise enough to consult your doctor if the condition doesn't make the progress you normally expect to see or have experienced in the past.
Perceptions From The Observation Of Shock
The study of shock is an interesting observation and learning experience with respect to normal and protective body operations and their mechanisms.

Also it is interesting to see how the conscious mind and unconscious mind interact together in balance and in situations where they produce conflicts (Voluntary Vs Involuntary Responses).  One of the prime directives of the unconscious mind is to run and manage all body functions.  As an example, when you go to sleep your unconscious mind keeps your heart beating and your lungs breathing (involuntary responses).  Also, your unconscious mind runs and manages the Shock protective program, as well as all normal operating body programs.  The conflicts come when the conscious mind (your free will & belief system) decides to do something that goes against the unconscious mind’s programs.  You conscious free will and/or belief system are so powerful that they can and do over ride your unconscious mind’s programs to the point of self-destruction.  The level of activated self-destruction can vary or range from very mild all the way up to very severe where you could witness the individual’s will to die immediately.

Somewhere in this mix of conscious and unconscious mind control we find the chronic un-cycled shock programs that are still running and adversely influencing the normal wellness programs towards a state of illness, sickness, and disease (a self-destruction mechanism).  It is interesting to see how a protective program can be influenced or changed into a destructive one through the conscious will and over ride this system to do something it wants rather than allowing the protective program to first stabilized and control the body.

Another thing I routinely witness when the un-cycled shock reaction is allowed to complete its cycle by the adjunctive used of applied Wholistic and natural therapies is that the individual relives the insulting experience.  Their comments imply that the relived emotional experience is just as if it was happening all over again.  This releasing process seems to be very similar to replaying a record, video, or DVD or any other product that possess memory. However, in the case of shock releasement the feelings and emotions are leaving the individual.

It is interesting to learn theories from the field of quantum mechanics.  Their explanation takes you way beyond that of the usual physical world and its explanation of atoms, electrons, neutrons, and protons.  Quantum mechanics reduces all forms of matter to their lowest state of creation.  That is to say quantum mechanics reduces all forms of mater to their lowest and simplest state and so it can be expressed in the combination of energy and information.  The creating process of all matter (thought to form = manifestation) by the combination of energy and information is very similar to that seen in the process used by a computer and in making record and CD.  But noteworthy here is that they all possess or have expressions of memory.  So, the emotional experience felt by the individual as the shock cycle is unlocked and released from him or her can also be viewed as a form of memory being released from their body.

We are all supposed to be advancing in our knowledge and applications we create from that knowledge but we’re not.  We do research on many wonderful therapies and when bury the information when they work; such is the case with a therapy called “Diapulse”.  I believe that when more individuals in the healing arts start looking for natural and Wholistic answers and solution for bettering our state or quality of health and wellness we will be getting back to the ways God intended us to be.

One of the answers or solutions is to allow a state of harmony to be created and exist between the conscious and unconscious minds so they can work together in a high successfully symbiotic relationship.

What is necessary to accomplish this is the development of quality educational programs that teach the individual the responsibility of learning how their body’s works and how to care for it, and not just at a physical level.  Learning how the spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional interact together to create their state of sickness or wellness.  They should learn how their conscious mind works to go against or to help and assist their unconscious mind with its health and wellness programs. With top quality educational programs being presented at the grade school and high school levels we would find a great reduction in our nations health care programs.  Once the individual learns through quality educational programs and life’s teaching experiences that the doctor who truly takes care for them is found within them the health care status of the country completely changes.  That is to say that once the individual takes responsibility for himself or herself the need for outside health care providers, centers, and institutions would literally vanish.  It all still goes back to the individual and the responsibility they accept for themselves.

When you start thinking about how true the above statements are your mind will look at own health care services in a much different way.  And perhaps you will see or recognize that our present medical health care profession services only manages and watch over your sickness rather than direct you in a state of health and wellness.  It is sad to see this but it is exactly what is going on.  In my opinion medicine is a business that makes its living off of your illness, sickness, and disease.

I will leave you with this final thought.  Your state of health and wellness is your responsibility.  The choices you make in sickness or wellness will dictate the quality of life you lead.  To your own heart be true.
