Vitamin E & Selenium

Self-Help Supplies
All of the supplies needed or necessary that are mentioned in this chapter or in our rehab guidelines and rehab exercising self-help programs are available in our Bookstore

Vitamin E with Selenium is primarily used for connective tissue regeneration.  The connective tissues of the body includes both hard and soft tissues.  They include bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments.  This combination, proven over the last 10 years on the motocross raci41 circuit has shown a pronounced healing effect on the injured areas of the body.  This vitamin combination helps the body accelerate the regeneration of the injured tissue, and at the same time ,improves its quality of repair.

Vitamin E is fat soluble nutrition and is stored in the liver and fatty acids in small amounts. Vitamin E and selenium should be taken together because they are co-dependent (used together) in the body. They both activate vitamin A. All are very strong antioxidants that protect the body from the aging, damaging, and activates and accelerates the body to heal or repair itself from the effects of chemically active pollutants. Unprotected fats become rancid when they oxidize, vitamin E combined with selenium protect against this rancid oxidization. Modern food preparation removes these two nutrients. Vitamin E decays in food that is stored for long periods.

Vitamin E blocks iron and therefore should never be taken during the active parts of the individual's day. If the individual does take vitamin E during the active parts of his or her day they will notice a feeling of being more tired than normal with the iron blockage time period. Vitamin E and selenium are the most compatible to the body's metabolic machine when taken just before the individual's resting or sleeping hours.

9. May retard cancer
10. Prevents sterility
11. Protects against radiation (sun) burns
12. Protects against B group vitamins from to rapid of oxidation.

Therapeutic Uses:
1. Healing scar tissue (aplastic deformation to plastic regeneration)\
2. Healing burns
3. Slows the aging process
4. Healing blood clots
5. Heals heart failure repair

Depletors of Vitamin E:Estrogen, Birth Control Pills, Chlorine & chlorine water, Mineral Oil, Heat, Food Processing, Inorganic Iron, & Rancid fats
Selenium (a mineral)

Functions
Works with vitamin E as an antioxidant of toxic materials and helps the body utilize oxygen, assists normal body growth, helps to prevent chromosome breakage in tissue repair and regeneration as well as birth defects. Believed to prevent many kinds of cancer, including related reproductive tissues and organs, delays the oxidation of poly-unsaturated fatty acids from elasticity of all skin tissues.

Therapeutic Uses:
Premature aging, skin problems, protein deficiency diseases, birth defects, scalp problems, emphysema, high blood pressure, infertility heart function, sexual functions, & menopause

Principal SourcesFoods = Bran, whole grains, tuna fish, broccoli, onions, tomatoes, asparagus, mushrooms
Herb's = Black Walnut, Horsetail, Hawthorn, Berries, Aloe Vera, Spirulina, Slippery Elm, Ginseng, Red Raspberry, Pau D'Arco, Marshmallow, Chaparral, Catnip, Black Cohosh, Blessed Thistle, Blue Cohosh, & Buchu

Depletors of Selenium:
Mismanaged Stress Loads both mental and physical & High Fat Intake

Special Note
Cortez's "Fountain Of Youth" chemical
Selenium increases the power of vitamin E, which is necessary for vitamin E to become more effective. The combined vitamin E and selenium formula is recommended more highly over and should replace all the previous 400 IU Vitamin E products. Regular vitamin E products contain d-beta, d-gamma, and d-alpha forms of vitamin E from vegetable sources in a base of cold-pressed soybean oil. This cheaper, less active, synthetic "dl" form is not recommended.
In my opinion, in order to extract and utilize 100% of something's ability to perform, repair, or heal itself, you must use the best quality product available. That's why E-Vitamin - 400 IU w/ Selenium (6O) (2OO) is the best choice. Selenium potentates Vitamin E.

Caution
Not all manufacturers’ herbs work the same. Some manufacturers dilute their products so much that the product works slower or not at all. In raci41 I have learned that only performance counts. And if I continued using the product it was because it was performing. So remember, many manufacturers’ products just don’t work at the levels necessary for the racers. I personally know that the ones listed here do perform and so do the riders who use them.

Be your own judge about which works best for you. If you do not know than call the company or look for these words on the container:
1. Cold Pressed
2. Cold Processed
3. All Natural
Then it will not perform like those who do.
